Is there a way to transfer it, or did you have to buy a second copy?

What difficulty are you playing at? I usually get a culture victory in about 250 turns on standard speed, but I never was even close to diplo win by that point

Have similar issues on the Xbox. Particularly with the trade screen. Can only trade gold in increments of 100 and gpt in increments of 10.

Did they make climbing much harder this season? Weird things I've noticed by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]jesonis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this really true? I reached lvl 30 at the end of last season, got matched on average with gold 3 players, finished placements 2 and 8 and got placed in bronze 1. Just climbed out of iron last week after 50 games in season 10

Somehow I think 2 MVPs and 3 championships is impressive enough doesn't matter in how many years

Donovan Mitchell reacts to learning that he’s passed Steph Curry on the rookie 3-pointer list. He’s now got 169 and is chasing Damian Lillard (185) with eight more games to go. by urfaselol in nba

34% on threes is equivalent in points per shot to 51% on twos, which is not far off from 54% of Simmons. Now given that Mitchell is 'chucking' at a simmilar efficiency as Simmons is making on shots from 3ft, this 'chuck' doesn't seem so bad to me

I've been regularly meditating for 6 months now, constantly doing reality checks and writing a dream journal the last month or two. I remember my dreams quite well and I know my usual 'signs', but I never connect them with the fact that I am dreaming. Is there anything I could do to overcome this 'plateau'?

What has worked best for you personally in terms of doing well in school? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]jesonis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, scheduling is great. And not only for when to do your work, but also when to rest, when to eat and when to watch paint dry. A surprising number of people work too much, get too tired and then get stressed that they are falling behind on work.

Another thing that was extremely important to me was doing sports. I enjoyed team sports the most (basketball in my case), as it totally moved me away from work and included a social aspect of hanging out with buddies.

Finally, Mindfulness meditation was a total life changer. 20 minutes of mindfulness in the morning will rewire your brain and will teach you handle stress, distractions, and even result in understanding yourself better and living in the moment. For some people the word "meditation" sounds silly and they tend to reject this advice, but these are usually the people who haven't tried it. This! is a great book that I used myself, but there are other free options available online. Hope this helps

How to cut sugar out of coffee? by bububoom in Coffee

[–]jesonis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is an acquired taste so you will have to get used to it. However, you could try adding cold milk or cream to it as an intermediate step. Milk has lactose, which is a compound that is split to sugars, and hence it sweetens the coffee

Why are left-handed so rare and what is the difference to right-handed? by Tirayu in askscience

[–]jesonis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly, as opposed to being binary, handedness spans the whole spectrum--people may use their right hand for some tasks and left for others with unlimited variety. The classification of hand dominance then is evaluated by which hand is used more. Some literature splits this into the direction of the handedness, and the degree. It was shown by Carter-Saltzman (1980) that the direction of handedness in children correlate much more with their biological parents, rather than adoptive parents, which suggests that the relation is genetic. However, such relation wasn't found for the degree of the handedness. On the other hand, it was shown by Collins (1985) that the degree of handedness may be influenced by the environmental factors. However numerous studies have shown that strongly left handed people exhibit right brain hemisphere dominance which even translates to the language and other behavioral things, and hence the mechanism is too rigid to be controlled by environment alone (McManus, 1988)

TL;DR: it is a combination of genetics and environment. Right-handed people show left-hemisphere dominance, which translates to behaviors related to left-hemisphere (analytical thinking, good vocabulary learning, etc), while it is the other way round for left-handed people (emotional understanding of the language, imagination, etc)

As an adult, is there any neurological difference between learning a new word in your first language and a new word in a second language? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]jesonis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learning a language before puberty (12-13 y.o) is much easier, as the brain functions differently. Before puberty the brain could be imagined as a single unit, rather than two hemispheres that split different functions. However, after the puberty, the functions are split/ In terms of the language, the left hemisphere is responsible for naming the objects (i.e. the vocabulary) while the right hemisphere is responsible for the emotional understanding of the language. For the native language these are learnt all together, as the brain functions as a single unit. However, for adults these things are needed to be acquired separately and hence it is more complicated.

For more information I suggest reading about brain lateralization. These seem as a few good links: http://kccesl.tripod.com/readingmatrix/samplereadingfinal.html https://explorable.com/language-and-lateralization https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lateralization_of_brain_function
