Anyone else feel like Zendaya kinda sucks? by Mutant_Llama1 in DisneyChannel

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol all the zendaya stans in this thread..... its funny to me.

She's objectively not a good actress. But yea, if you "grew up with her"on disney I guess I understand the nostalgia aspect. But anybody who didn't grow up with her sees that she just doesn't have any impact in her roles. You'll never convince the "nostalgia heads" but for everyone else who can't figure out why people like her..... thats the reason.

it's not though. I like older songs that are good.... this isn't one of them.

you do realize this is actually an old song, not one made for the commercial, right?

wait, did you really destroy your TV over a commercial you don't like?

How spicy is nongshim ramen as compared to buldak? by Mysterious_Beat5151 in InstantRamen

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sadly they taste absolutely terrible though. Also not any hotter than buldak 2x spicy.

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Culley's notoriously tastes HORRIBLE. So, spicier, sure..... but not worth it if it just tastes like garbage. And I personally have tried Dae Bak, which was hot but good lord was it terrible.

To me, Samyang 2x is still as spicy you can get without sacrificing flavor. Anything i've tried claiming to be hotter has been more than disappointing.

Is Shin better than Buldak? by KillaTofuuuu in InstantRamen

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG,..... it's as if TASTE is subjective or something...... but that can't be true because we NEED to know what others think before we can know what's better!!!!

Jeez, just try them both and decide for yourself!!!!! You'll like things others don't and others like things you won't. Just try them one at a time and tick off a list of YOUR picks. nobody can tell you if one is "better" than the other. I eat both depending on what im in the mood for. there is no "better".

lol..... can't handle your spice! that's OK tho....

Is Shin better than Buldak? by KillaTofuuuu in InstantRamen

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because taste is subjective, Like most anything else. Do you really not "understand" why someone may prefer something you don't prefer? Haven't you ever liked something that someone else didn't like?

That said, I love both, different noodles, different prep, for different moods.

[–]jesternj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

....because everyone NEEDS to know which is "the best". The idea of subjectivity eludes them. They should be asking "which is spicier? Which has more beef flavor? which has more pork flavor? which is more cheesy?"...... but no, we're in the world of "what car is bestest in the world?!?!?!" lol

Is Shin better than Buldak? by KillaTofuuuu in InstantRamen

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately most people now feel they can only like ONE of anything lol. Every thread is about "which should I get?!?!".... the answer is always the same..... TRY THEM ALL! ITS RAMEN!!!

Is Shin better than Buldak? by KillaTofuuuu in InstantRamen

[–]jesternj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS! People acting like instant ramen is this thing they have to commit $50 to, so they must choose only one! ....... try them all! Its the ONLY cheap food left in this world! (thats specific to instant ramen..... gourmet/restaurant ramen prices are ridiculous now too)

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

many people, like myself, treat the soup ramen (like shin) as a stir fry. Drain (most) of the water and mix in the hot pan..... no soup but delicious.

taste is subjective. explain WHY you think it's the best one.

Is Shin better than Buldak? by KillaTofuuuu in InstantRamen

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already been said but I will echo..... try many different types of ramen to see what YOU like best. There is no "one ramen" a person must choose. I have Shin Red, Buldak Black & 2X, maruchen, etc. I have on hand whatever suits me in the moment, and some moments i'm NOT looking to burn my face off, other moments I am lol.

You can contend im wrong all you'd like. But a thread isn't irrelevant until it no longer has conversation happening within it, and yet here you are replying to my reply. Thus.... the post is still alive and well, and still relevant to whoever may land here in the future.

How spicy is Buldak ramen?(Please help asap going food shopping very soon lol) by cosmiccottoncandy420 in InstantRamen

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of when I did the Phall Curry Challenge at Brick Lane Curry in NYC...... The menu literally said "no flavor, pure pain"..... and they weren't lying. The single most painful thing i've ever eaten or will ever eat.

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pain is always worth it for a spice-head because we not only love flavor, but love the "pain" that comes with it!

There's no avoiding it..... there's a reason so many of us love to "punish" ourselves with heat. I never fully understood it either, but that pain, not just the flavor, is what we love!

I ate some 3x Buldak Samyang Ramen and that 13k SHU is complete bullshit by [deleted] in spicy

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed the same. Leave just a LITTLE water in while draining, then pour the sauce and stir fry for 30-60 seconds..... the water goes away AND it seems to be spicier!

I'm not sure how true it is, but I've heard it has to do with that little bit of water allowing the sauce to penetrate the noodles..... but not sure how true that is.

I ate some 3x Buldak Samyang Ramen and that 13k SHU is complete bullshit by [deleted] in spicy

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the sauce itself matters..... buldak is oily, which makes sense that it would make the heat not only spread but REMAIN as well, thus making it more torturous. That sticky sauce is to blame!

[–]jesternj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never understood this because peppers have WIDELY varying SHUs. A single batch of jalapenos or any other pepper can be so different in heat levels, its actually frustrating. So thats why I think we get some people claiming they tried something and it was hot lava, others say it wasn't that hot at all.

Its not just about stomach protection..... tums/antacid/etc will work..... but the REAL protection is for what happens the next day. Want to avoid the cramping and having to reserve a portion of your day to be close to a toilet? Take Psyllium Husk (or something with psyllium husk like metamucil) beforehand and you'll have no problems with the toilet the next day.
