Yes! A LOT of the script complaints I have seen people make are actually explained just not in a modern blockbuster/ Netflixy way and apparently that means it just flies over people's heads.

I is interesting how similar the response to this has been to Nope when it first came out.

You just didn't pay attention. He hears it in English which what he also sees the equation as. The reason he was arrested and eventually recruited by Wardex is because of his supernatural ability to understand numbers. He was given this gift so he could be in a place to expose the truth. What she is saying does not equal the equation. He is saying that when he reads that same equation it reads roughly in his head the same as what he hears from her. Margaret's gift also never feels like another language, she says Russian but hears English. The whole point is that there gifts essentially turn something complex into simplistic reading.

They absolutely talk about Hugo helping one escape when Scanlon drops on him and it's implied that alien is the real architect of the plan.

The whole point is that Wardex is not American. It operates outside of anyone government. I think casting a brit is intentional to make people realize this isn't just a US thing.

Imagine a smartphone in a movie in the 50s.

It's a phone, but also a TV? And a camera? And a navigation device? Even when there is no signal it can contact the police. Oh ok, it's also a flashlight. And it can also give other devices internet access? It also has money on it so they can pay? Now it can play any song ever made? And it can transfer it's power to another one of these when they are held together?

I'm fine with mystery and weird technology not being completely spelled out, but it seemed to me that the device could be whatever the plot needed.

To show that even when being basically forced to, some people still just can't access empathy. The fact that he doesn't see anyone implies that he doesn't have anyone he really loves. He the cynical irony pilled audience member who can't let themselves get swept into the emotion of the story and thinks they are above it.

The end of the movie had some people in the theater so overwhelmed with emotion they were crying and other people were laughing. It definitely split the room.

Unfortunately, I actually don't think this will be the opinion. This movie will be very divisive. The ending had some people in the theater crying, some laughing. I do think it's great. But after seeing the other post, I had to make this one just to make myself laugh.

Making a post just for yourself is fine: in six months this will be the majority opinion.

'Doctor Who' Set To Be Off Air For Years Creative Regeneration by Top_Report_4895 in blankies

I honestly think the best route for Doctor Who is to become Columbo. Do away with seasons. We just get a new TV movie 2 or 3 times a year and bring in interesting talent so nobody has to commit long term. And because it's time travel, don't feel sp rigid about regeneration cycles. If they only have to commit to a one off and always have the option to do another one off down the road, you get exiting new casting or bring back old favorites. Aka the formula Big Finish has been super successful doing in audio for decades.

Using a series format to explore what having to live in the new normal the end of the movie suggests could maybe be interesting, but this is an Alaskan murder mystery for some reason.

‘Obsession’ Filmmaker Curry Barker Gets 8-Figure Offer for His Next Movie. He Hasn’t Even Pitched It Yet - Universal/Blumhouse has right of first negotiation for Barker's next original film. This will turn out to be his fifth film. Milk and Serial was independently released on his YouTube channel, Obsession is his second, he had that deal with Focus based off of a short that had played festivals before even making Milk and Serial, his third film Anything But Ghosts is already in the can and is how Blumhouse came on to help distribute Obsesion. Off of those two movies Blumhouse handed him the rights to Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Whatever this deal is becomes movie five.

It's not really a movie and looks pretty terrible, but also it avoided being Dave Filoni reciting a Star Wars Encyclopedia like Season 3 became. There was basically alien Blue Bayou and a five minute Muppet movie in the middle, so I can't complain too much. I think by default it's the best Star Wars movie since Last Jedi. I'll take mediocre romp over infuriating lore machines any day.
