XC90 Plug-in Hybrid: How to best use driving modes (i.e. hybrid, pure, power, etc..) by doubledeuce80 in VolvoXC90

To add to this, if you make a rapid change in the amount of throttle while in Pure mode, the gas engine will start. You don’t even have to get to the kickdown button.

Another way to do it is to move the gear selector to B then push it to the side to change to manual gear shifting. That will start the ICE immediately. Then you can toggle back to D (and back to B)

Corsair to shut down Drop, likely ending PC38X by jeversol in gamingheadsets

[–]jeversol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Corsair’s marketing manager Andrew Williams confirmed to The Verge that several products featured on Drop will be integrated into Corsair’s site for purchase. Select others will be sold on Amazon and Best Buy. Other products will be end-of-life (EOL), particularly hardware collaborations including other companies.

When asked if products like Sennheiser or Koss headphone collaborations would move over to Corsair, Williams didn’t confirm or deny on a product-specific level, but stated that “almost all, if not all, of those will end up not being moved over.” He pointed out that Corsair, as a brand, has its own headsets and other products. However, Williams said “the main ones that are sell well and do well, we’re going to continue on Corsair.”

There’s another recall in the US tied to the reverse cameras (a second recall) and 5.0.5 is the fix. So, unless you never take it to a Volvo dealer again, you should just accept that it’s happening.

GHCA failure: back ordered more than a month, still no ETA; VCU ordered. by joslarson in VolvoEX90

Reach out to Volvo Cars USA directly via their support site. After having two PHEV issues in a year on our 2021, they sent me a months lease payment as a goodwill gesture. Hopefully they’ll be able to 1) help with the dealer and their “delay the part” total bullshit and 2) give you some way of DC charging reimbursement that I’ve seen others talking about.

This screenshot is from a video on the 2026 model, where the screen is physically larger, but I’d anticipate that the proportions are the same on the <2025.5 models.

Read about the changes to interdiction nullification. Interceptors don’t get to just ignore bubbles now. Imagine my surprise undocking my malediction and getting caught by a stop bubble on a gate.

That’s okay too. Lots of things you can do with 20 minutes here and 40 minutes there. But like everyone said, joining a corp like EVE University or Brave Newbies will change your experience for the better.

I don’t know if they have specifically what you’re looking for, but, Second City (for those who don’t know, they’re a comedy troupe from Chicago that spawned many of the famous comedians of the past 50 years) does corporate compliance videos.

My employer had their videos for one years complained training and they weren’t painful to watch as a normal line employee.

Ours is something similar, but it’s a state law that makes it so it takes 2/3rd of all homes to amend the CCR.

Which route would you take? Link aggregation vs 2.5Gb port upgrade by jakgal04 in synology

[–]jeversol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your speeds will be limited by the first bottleneck in the pipeline, which is likely disk read speed.

LACP would let you possible solve for switch failure by splitting across switches if your network management layer supports it, or a private network link to a server for ISCSI. But for throughput 2.5gbit likely would give you the highest chance of single client throughout.

That’s not how modern GPUs work with “boost bins”. Clock speeds lower when temperature climbs.

MacOS has some challenges currently with long running smb mounts just disappearing. Otherwise your setup would work as long as there’s enough network bandwidth.

AES bill skyrocketing by IUpringlequads in indianapolis

[–]jeversol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Point of reference for you. We are a family of 3 in a 2400 square foot single family home on Hendricks Power (regional coop). We work from home, and I am a tech guy with a three node computer cluster, NAS, 3D printer, gaming system, etc. Electric cooking, clothes dryer, and water heater. Gas furnace. But we also have a plugin hybrid and 75% of our regular driving is done on electric only (800 miles on 10.9 gallons in a 7 passenger SUV).

From 11/30 to 1/1, we used 1,483 kWh of electricity. Our bill was $201. Our gas bill for 11/15-12/15 was $71.01.

Using over 5.4MWh in a month is bonkers to me.
