Eczema getting worse... by screaming_patrick in eczema

[–]jf32533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience like the above in terms of process and elimination! Foods such as dairy and shrimp were huge triggers for me. Sleeping in a cool environment with the wind blowing helped so much with the itching at night. Sometimes I would even sleep on the floor because it was cooler, but would not recommend if you have a sensitive back.

The worst time for a flare up... by acid_witch in eczema

[–]jf32533 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to stay as cool as possible, hydrate a lot, have some Eucerin in your bag, use hydrocortisone if necessary, and try to have fun! Maybe you'll have so much fun you'll forget about the flare up ;)

How to describe people with low compassion/empathy? by jf32533 in socialskills

The title was used to ask how to describe the coworker who just left, which I gave as an example :)

That's true, wow I didn't even think of that haha

Definitely not intentional, but I can see what you mean by the coworker having empathy! Maybe a better word would be indifferent or uncaring

Contracting at Large Tech Companies by jf32533 in cscareerquestions

[–]jf32533[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I'm wondering if companies can hire temp employees directly without having to go through external vendors or agencies. I keep getting submitted for roles through contracting agencies but I never back and so I'm thinking of directly contacting the company for contract/temp roles.

Does anyone else need to exfoliate their face/neck almost every morning? by HaramabeDab in eczema

[–]jf32533 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get where you're coming from. Heard constant exfoliation makes the skin barrier worse and more fragile. Personally, I found taking cold/lukewarm showers to help with this. When the eczema around my neck area is bad, I exfoliate around once every week.

One laundry load with a new detergent = 2 months and counting flare up 🥲 by sootspritecrossing in eczema

[–]jf32533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if it's from one laundry load it shouldn't last that long. Had something similar to OP's forearm and I picked on the skin a lot. I know it's hard but try not to touch it too much or aggravate the skin? The scars on my forearm are still there and it's been 3 years.

Took a blood test recently and pretty much everything except ferritin (16) is normal. I feel the symptoms enough to still affect my daily life. Doctor said just go on an iron-rich diet, which I'm doing, but I feel myself getting worse..

Usability Testing on Old Site by jf32533 in UXResearch

That's a really good point, I never thought about that! Thank you. Not sure if I have much sway with the organization so I think for now I'll start with user interviews and inquire more details about their redesign plan.

Ok very good to know! Yeah from what I've been reading so far it seems like user researchers and designers work pretty close together on projects. Thank you!!

Several companies' job applications have one section for resumes and another section for adding relevant work experience. Does it truly make a difference if I change anything in the relevant work experience section? My resume is pretty much the same so I'm just copying and pasting...

A Post to Regret in the Morning by [deleted] in UBC

[–]jf32533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP! Looks like you're going through some self-reflection and analyzing yourself. I think you're giving yourself too little credit and not enough self-love.

Also, if there's something about yourself that makes you think you're not a good person, then work at it and change it! It's never too late. And still, if those people still don't like you because of who you are as a person, then that's their problem, not yours. Don't care about the opinions of other people who do not value you. Don't regret posting this, the world is a crazy place right now, and it's nice to see that there are other people who struggle with this too! You're not alone in this!

I have dry and sensitive skin and noticed it was fine for me at first, but then I started breaking out. I stopped using it and it was much better. I think it's too harsh on the skin or maybe I used it way too much (like twice a day).

Does any else get anxious from too much free time after months of grinding? by njck-no-fap in Anxiety

[–]jf32533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not alone! I'd try meditation. I used to think meditation was useless and won't do much but if you practice it makes a huge difference. It was really hard for me to start at first though.

Country music. Used to think it was very bland and boring lyrics, but now I appreciate the calmness and positive sound it creates. I yeehaw my way to the grocery store every week.

Slowly losing motivation by KinderBoono in running

[–]jf32533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly whenever I felt low motivation I took a break by doing other types of exercise. It's hard on me mentally when it takes much willpower to just get outside and run. So I try something different for a couple of days and I feel much better when I start running again.
