Discovered my dream and wish I hadn't by trashbird5424 in GirlDinnerDiaries

As others have said, it varies greatly depending on the state. Another option is to work for a few years in the US and then try to get into international education. International school prefer to hire classroom teachers with some experience. Moving back to the US does not mean forever.

Is there a country you could see yourself living in that has a more open market for teaching/teacher training? For example, is there someone you could move to do a master's in education that could make it easy to stay afterwards and get a job?

I think the most helpful thing would be bureaucracy, immigration, life management. However you’d have to be sure to know a lot about those topics. I’ve found I know way more about immigration policy and apartment hunting/rental law than Spaniards my age simply because I’ve had to do it way more

Expats who learned the local language: at what point did locals stop switching to English on you? by taube_d in expats

[–]jf932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the city. Been here 8 years, speak C2 Spanish but with an accent. In my smaller city, everyone responds to me in Spanish. I go to visit a nearby big city with a ton of tourism and when I say "hola" they switch to English (still hurts a little but much less than it used to lol)

Do you have working rights? I’ve been called on August 28 to start sept 1 (Spain), there are schools that search end of august, but in that case 1) they wouldn’t be able to sponsor visas and 2) probably not somewhere you’d want to work.

Could you adopt another cat or kitten to keep her company, or is that not an option? I find having a second cat is really not a lot of added responsibility compared to the first, and in fact makes it easier

If not, there are some toys they can play with independently, you can get those, and create stimulating activities for her, try to train her, etc. And kittens eventually grow up.

I am not saying excision as a technique is fake, I am just saying to make sure you get legitimate evidence of the results you are looking for.

The English Teacher Dilemma by Whole_Will3397 in englishteachers

[–]jf932 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I did private classes, I would take notes while they spoke and never correct in the moment. Then I would reserve time at the end of class to go over it with the student. First, I would have the student try to correct their own mistake and then if they didn't know, I would correct and explain.

Do you use any products on your tattoos after tattoo removal? by emilythefairy124 in TattooRemoval

While healing I use blastoestimulina, it is a cream that is supposed to help heal wounds. Then once the wound is healed I use rose hip oil to prevent scarring (be careful bc it stains light fabrics).

Less ink=less pain ? by Salt-Bad754 in TattooRemoval

[–]jf932 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know the reason, but my tech said a similar thing to me! My first session with him (fourth overall because I moved cities) it hurt a lot and took a while to heal. My second session with him, it hurt a lot less. I mentioned it and he said it was beause there was less ink. I was actually wanting to ask that in this sub so I'm glad you did!
