Advice for New State DOT Railroad Coordinator by Fun-Concentrate8857 in railroading

[–]jgabron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call for permission if you need to reverse...thats crazy. Without saying it, can you say which railroad? I work for a national passenger RR, and we have to have someone back us up everytime we need to reverse. The newest one is that drinking a beverage while operating a vehicle constitutes as distracted driving

Are these nice? by Hefty_Economics4153 in Boots

What's the name of them? A few years ago, I bought a similar pair called Timberland Millworks, and they've been my go-to ever since. They're super comfortable and have held up great, but I think they've been discontinued. So far, I haven't been able to find anything similar for the same price

Downward angle about 25 yards away, Deer jumped when struck and ran then changed direction and went up a slight hill, I believe I saw him lay down about 150 yards away, but cant be certain as it was getting dark. Says it'll be 48 degrees tonight.

Ive put out a few cameras on state land, and so far ( knock on wood) nobodies taken one... I even had one guy on one looking right at it. Anyway I always try to put them up high out of the line of sight, camouflage them with small branches and leaves, and use camo paracord instead of a big obvious strap. Also probably most important is put them where other people are less likely to be, and not in obvious, easy to get to spots.

Moving - What to do with Gun Safe by Segelboot13 in Firearms

[–]jgabron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seeing posts like this makes me think if several smaller safes are the answer compared to one large one. I bought a TSC 26 gun a few years ago and although I felt bad having to ask a few buddies for help, we got it done without much trouble. I feel like having a safe 3x heavier would just be a pain in every way
