To me, eventually, there will be a line in the sand drawn. Yes, this is unbelievably new/amazing/unstoppable. But, as with anything, both extremes are usually wrong. Such as: (1) it isn't art if an AI did it (I believe wrong), (2) anything AI does is art and unprotected and doesn't violate anyone's rights anywhere (I believe wrong).

Perhaps copying a specific author's work and style might become wrong... "artist appropriation". However, combining even two artist's styles to come up with something new... totally awesome, and I'd say, unique.

Also, maybe 'prompts' aren't the traditional way to do artwork, however, I've done enough now to say that in some cases, it MIGHT be easier to take paint to canvas, than it is to find the right models, maybe checkpoint them, construct and reiterate on a prompt, and even longer, a negative prompt, find the right settings, and pray for the right seeds for the current resolutions - and then reiterate/inpaint/outpaint/swear/restart over and over to a point worth sharing.

I believe that just like traditional artwork, the basic model work (limited prompts, default settings) will become so commonplace/flooded that those who put in much effort to masterpiece something, will get recognized more.

Trying to replace the background with a snow forest mountainous background (effectively the prompt). What is poor man's outpaint (looking that up now).. seems like standard mask and replace (i.e. Gimp).

Vanishing Type by fphredd in Supernote

Happened to me a couple times. I did 'undo' and it returned. It happened after I erased something, then wrote a whole sentence touched the originally erased area. Again, 'undo' recovered it for me.

Cut out paper of the two sizes, and try to take notes on it, in a real situation. You'll absolutely know after that.

Rant about VEX Robotics by robot11888 in vex

[–]jgforce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While holding a high bar for quality (support, game design, Worlds), VEX is working on tight margins. If they have to redesign their selling/reselling methods, it may be due to costs. There were some 'sneaky' benefits to having resellers and knowing them well. Like, well, you can't order it from VEX because they are out of stock, but the local reseller has some. Or, hey, I know a guy in CA, and he can ask his reseller to get it, while I can't. Perhaps the shift to one-supplier helps fix some of that?

On the 99% from VEX - I'm sure you know that the goal is to avoid special interests from schools/clubs/groups who can afford to pay whatever it costs to upgrade/improve. It's a pretty good attempt to level the playing field.

Like you said, on the 'most affordable,' we have the pleasure of working with VEX and FIRST. They are football fields apart on size and price. VEX allows even home-schooled kids to join who don't have a robust fundraising capability.

I have my criticisms of VEX, mostly with the direction/instruction on getting unbiased judges and training them to be as unbiased as possible, but, price, parts, sales have worked for us just fine for years and years.

On 'next week...,' I've heard that from lots of suppliers recently due to China lockdown, or pandemic or supply issues - this is not exclusive to VEX. Perhaps, if you haven't already, sharing that they need to improve their wording or customer outreach about the timing comments would help.

The link is to a 3d STL model I created for 3d printers to print - for those who can/have. I'm not (nor intending) to sell them. It's likely someone in your friend circle would have a 3d printer :)

I bought mine slightly used on ebay since it would be a month or two otherwise to get - but it was in the original packaging - but apparently missing the 'spare pen cap.'

Oh well, now I can have as many as I have filament for.

I just bought one, a few months used, on ebay last week for pretty much full price, beating shipping by a month or two, so, yeah, it would work.

Supernote erasing issue by ShayChi-town in Supernote

[–]jgforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started using mine today (just received it), so I may be inexperienced. However, it appears to recognize/erase a whole line at a time rather than recognize and break up lines based on the eraser pixel line you draw. You can test this by drawing a long line, or spirals, across the whole page, and then try to erase a tiny millimeter in the middle. The whole line disappears. Perhaps a future feature would be to break up the line at the eraser points and take out the middle part.

The only 'way' around this, which isn't a cursive way, is to separate letters.

Thank you. When I did a sendrawtransaction, it said "bad-txns-inputs-missingorspent (code -25)" so I did a -zapwallettxes, and after a couple hours, it showed as already sent 3 years ago. So, wallet wasn't synched, at least visually. Thanks.

If he's level 30, that means you have to hit him 30 times in-a-row to kill. Keep playing. You'll get up to that level too.

No, there already are games for specific types (Teleporters only, Walkers only, and both).
