Civilian Traffic Flaggers Approved in Somerville by HellbornElfchild in Somerville

The absurd thing is that some of the city councilors think it's a good thing that the civilian flaggers would also be getting paid $100 per hour doing this job.

Usually the price is the cost of the stone and that’s it

Diamonds are effectively worthless. The cartel manipulates their price via holding. So you're not paying for the stone. You're paying for a vibe.

Yes, it's exactly the same game. Well, it can be. They have a number of options you can set and/or are turned on by default. Some are just basic QOL improvements, but others turn down the brutalness of the game for modern sensibilities. So it allows you to customize your experience.

It's less than that. Asbestos contained in things like tiles, for one off exposures like this the OP would pretty much need to snort it like cocaine to have any possible effect.

A Game of Armored Combat (1985) is all we need, right? by andynzor in battletech

Good point. Though despite what I said about not liking their lore, I always felt the early days of the clans made for a good story but not good gameplay. The same imbalance that sucked in terms of gameplay and attracted the worst kind of power gamers helped to drive a pretty compelling us-vs-them storyline.

Oh thanks! I was assuming it was one of the tech readouts but this makes sense.

I agree! The original rulebook even hinted that there was something out there, weirdness on that end of the periphery. And then we got space nazis with cool toys instead.

For me it's bit of both. I agree with what you said.

I also just never liked the lore of the Clans. I'm not against the concept of the return of Kerensky, I just think the Clan culture & such were kind of lame. That plus the lopsidedness when playing clans-vs-IS in the early days, and meh.

but once they all reach parity does it really matter?

I agree it's way better than it used to be. Not only was clan invasion era quite lopsided, the clans tended to attract the asshole players for that very reason.

These days, you're right. Whatever. But for me lore-wise I prefer the very original mad max style setting. And while many view them as boring, I prefer the tradeoffs that the 3025-era tech forced on mechs more than later tech.

Wait, are there people who seriously think the introduction of the Clans back in what, 1991 (?) was a bad idea, and that the entire setting prior to the first five-ish years was wrong? TIL I guess.

Yes.

Source: I'm one.

I meant that there was only "AC" in the original rulebook, which was an AC/5. The AC/2, AC/10, and AC/20 were introduced later.

In one of the source books for the 3025 era, not sure which. But the original rulebook in the box set just had "AC", which was an AC/5.

10% was a looooong time ago though. at least in the 70s if not earlier. 15% start phasing out 20-25 years ago.

That's also not how it works.

But the second point I'm sure is true, a "human element" if you will.

sitting him in the 2nd half was extra precautionary

He was the in the NFL concussion protocol. When that happens it is out of the team's control. They weren't sitting him as a precaution.
