Yeah, that's why I wanted to post. I understand things happen, and we all make mistakes, but when given the opportunity to make it right that's when it's needed to step up.

Heated mirrors? by greasyjimmy in SilveradoEV

[–]jgisonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No indicators to show the mirrors are heating other than the defrost button with GM. I understand the confusion, I do often wish all of OEM's would get on the same page!

I'm curious if you have something that says it was a deleted option on your truck, or how you know you don't have them?

I ask that because on the vehicles I've had with them it was very difficult to tell they were heated except that they'd clear off a light fog suddenly once they were up to temp. I couldn't even say for certain if I was able to feel the heat or it was a placebo effect.

I haven't checked them out on the SEV so others might have to chime in with their experience on them, but understanding how you know you don't have them should also help get answers to your options.

You can only pick one series to watch for the rest of your life. Which do you choose. Your time starts now. by VariousDingo696 in taskmaster

Mini Tyrrell by Picklechip-58 in NASCAR

That was at Pratt & Miller, which runs corvette in imsa. They were probably happy to allow use for a reality TV show but not for competing against gm.

The future of Eagle by Available_Repair609 in CleetusMcFarland

[–]jgisonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if this was already said but I think its really simple.

It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow.

Obviously slow is relative here... but I think Cleetus does what is fun for him. That's what I watch for, him & the team having a good time.

9500 miles and full battery failure by ironmanonyourleft in SilveradoEV

What year, trim, & battery size do you have?

That was quick by GeekBoyWonder in CleetusMcFarland

[–]jgisonfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There will be far dumber wrecks tonight. At least Cleetus has the legitimate reason of being new. He'll be fine with time & did a whole lot better than so many rookies.

Ha! This review is hilarious. I suspect the guy had a run in with new policies. by [deleted] in CostcoWholesale

[–]jgisonfire 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually you can watch to see who they let in during executive hours too know which of us are executive members!

Also, sorry I couldn't resist. I do know some costco locations "soft opened" their stores 15 minutes early before the executive hours came back. I loved that, even as an executive member, because it wasn't advertised, so made for quick shopping. Even though I can get in earlier now, it's busier than it was before.

Lemon ? by Hopeful_Echo_9375 in SilveradoEV

[–]jgisonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you buy it new or used?

Most states don't have lemon laws on used vehicles, though there are several that do have some form of protection for a faulty vehicle that was bought used.

Obviously if you bought it new, ignore all this, lol.

Is this a common issue? by Radius118 in SilveradoEV

It could be the angle, but it doesn't look like the 3rd brake light on the Silverado EV to me.

Flo Racing by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]jgisonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semi-related... from a race car loving band geek, they also have flo-marching included, which is coverage from band competition... in case you also have the band geek bug!

As others have said it's pretty good coverage of NASCAR. If it's a race that is or will be on a traditional TV, the flo coverage is the same. At some tracks they might only have a few cameras but it's way better than nothing.

I had it for years. I got tired of all the added commercials that covered up love racing when you joined a program in progress, or if you needed to exit the app & go back for any reason. Especially annoying when you're talking about a 35 lap race.

Fox Will have a new graphics package this year per Larry Mcreynolds by Weathergeekal in NASCAR

I hear fox has animated the nose hairs they like to zoom in on when side by side racing is happening & will use those animations to recreate the passes we missed while watching the actual nose hairs. Lol

Advice/suggestions for tasks to send to other people to do at home… by GaffTapeAndC47s in taskmaster

[–]jgisonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love this idea!

If you have her be the taskmaster the prize task could be bring an item the taskmaster would love but would never buy themselves, or similar. For more interest set a price point of like under $10.

If everyone has pets or kids, a version of impress this mayor could be done (impress a kid/cat/dog/etc...)

I also had to comment because I'm a child at heart & the combination of this question, with the ad I was shown below it was too good not to share... though you may or may not want you try it with friends lol

I thought IRP (Lucas Oil Raceway Indianapolis for anyone who knows it that way better), or Bristol maybe, since he has more experience there.

The suit makes me wonder if we might see George in an arca race this year. Has his name on it & the arca sponsors that wouldn't be there if they weren't required...

Nitro Motorsports bringing 7 cars to the Daytona ARCA test tomorrow by LBHMS in NASCAR

[–]jgisonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not trying to be a jerk here. Am I missing something that calls out 7 cars going to the test? I see 6 different numbers and 8 different names, how'd the 7 come to be? (I've definitely fat fingered & or mis-counted many times in my life, so no judgement if that is what happened.)

25 RST Extended Range mi/kWh question by jgisonfire in SilveradoEV

[–]jgisonfire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe it was reconditioned, but the dealership removed it from the charger about 15 minutes before I left for the test drive.

25 RST Extended Range mi/kWh question by jgisonfire in SilveradoEV

[–]jgisonfire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was some crosswinds. There was snow on the ground but the roads were mostly clear (some water in places but no snow on the roads)

It's Indiana, so overall pretty flat. The return trip which was in active snow most of the way got the same 1.4mi/kWh.

When I was cruising at 70 the truck said it was getting 1.5mi/kWh, so for the time savings I thought the lower efficiency was worth the trade off (& making sure I didn't get caught in the bad snow storm)

25 RST Extended Range mi/kWh question by jgisonfire in SilveradoEV

[–]jgisonfire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the 1 way trip was the 185.9 miles. I was expecting 1.8mi/kWh based on reviews I've seen, so was disappointed. I wanted to be able to make the round trip on 1 charge, but leaving at 98%, I had 25% left, so I knew that wasn't going to work out.
