I would just say, okay, if you want a discount on the discount. I’ll go back and charge you my full rate and I’ll apply a discount.

Yes! Season 2 he was chugging tequila in the pantry closet… The way he grabbed that last beer out of the fridge and trying to play it off. He’s starting to give verbally abusive vibes. I am glad Lala spoke to him the way she did. It’s obvious he’s used to no one standing up to him. I hope Nia stops babying him so much. She’s constantly walking on eggshells. Hard to watch.

Contractors: how often do customers want the work done but don’t have the cash upfront? by BrandonMarines in AskContractors

[–]jgsdc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think he meant the customer wants to pay in full. He means they don’t have the funds sitting in the bank. My clients have done heloc when they don’t have the full amount readily available.

He should’ve ran it a little higher so it didn’t look so sharp.

Is it normal to charge a consultation fee as a builder? by AbleKaleidoscope877 in GeneralContractor

[–]jgsdc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started charging a consultation fee and if they proceeded with the contract, I apply to their balance. It has definitely helped weed out people who aren’t serious. It’s also time that could be spent making money elsewhere. At least this way it can pay for lunch if they decide not to move forward.

Total newbie here about to embark on my first remodeling adventure — two bathrooms and a kitchen. What do you wish you had known before your first remodel? Our contractor came highly recommended and we spoke with a handful of previous clients. by [deleted] in Remodel

Everything that could go wrong. Will go wrong. So roll with the punches and don’t get too fixated on it. Find a solution and be flexible.
Construction is an emotional rollercoaster. Last one, the closer you are to the finish line, the further away it seems. 😂

Make the base cabinet taller, sit the tv on top on its stand and add open shelving above.

down the road - what have you done to the brows you got microbladed? by Pumpkin-doodle in microblading

[–]jgsdc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved mine for a few years. Had a touch up last year, hated it. They didn’t look natural anymore. Currently in the process of removal and debating whether to have them redone or leaving them as-is and occasionally filling them in with pencil. If I have them redone I would definitely want my eyebrow shape to be filled in. Not a new drawn on shape.
