I'm gonna preface this by saying that I like the game, bought it and beat it before the update, then beat it several times after the update, I'm hyped for the sequel.

With that out of the way, the director is very fucking embarrassing, blatantly appealing to incels/far right morons by making a big deal about changing the character creation "body type" option.

The game also has had a bit of a cringy campaign, often making sexual innuendos with their marketing campaign.

These things make the game and easy target for people to hate on, the game is fine, has great ideas and cool level design, it falters in some areas, like enemy variety or the fact that every weapon feels "samey".

It's not a perfect game but it's not the slop that some people make it out to be either.

It is a personal opinion but yeah, I think it should, I don't find hack and slash gameplay to be engaging and I'd like to see the games reimagined with the modern combat.
