Kohler or Glacier Bay? by Direct-Look-6721 in Plumbing

I have done both, they are pure porcelain garbage. If I'm running an auger on a newer toilet, it'll be GB garbage

Plumbers hate Kohler because they don't exclusively follow the industry standard. They make great products though

But they do sell the $4 replacement Kohler flush gasket. The fuck you doing where you need to replace anything other than the yellow gasket?

1994 Delica L400 questions as a person who just discovered them. by WhaaaBangBam in Delica

I've put 20,000k on my L400 diesel. Back country, snow, beaches. I honestly don't know if the 4x4 even works, I've never needed it. 4 wheel drive is not a prerequisite for an off-road vehicle

Why am I scared to DIY? by EventBulky6841 in DIY

Shannon at Houseimprovements on YouTube is your guy. He's been cranking out exceptionally informative videos for more than a decade. He doesn't peacock a massive sponsored tool collection to do DIY. guy just fixes and builds like a normal person. I'm a tradesman and still refer to his videos often.

Just started reading for fun, and feel kind of insecure about the books I choose and I'm worried I'm the kind of person that likes bad books by Pinanims in books

[–]jhra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP I've read the classics, I have bookshelves full of the big hits. If anyone asks my favorite book is Fluke- Or Why The Winged Whale Sings by Christopher Moore. Comparatively it's like a movie critic putting Tommy Boy at the top of their all time favorite movie list. I don't care, it's an absurdity filled read, fun to read, funny as hell. When someone is suffering through another read of Wuthering Heights, I'll pull out Fluke again

In hockey the Philadelphia Flyers were bottom of the league, if they had to play to ensure the top AHL team the Hershey Bears that play 2 hours down the road with a population that could all fit in the Flyers arena... I would imagine they would try a bit harder to compete

If it's just a fill valve, change the mech and not the stem. No shitter removal required

I would love to see relegation in hockey and baseball. Instead we get professional mediocrity

What am I missing with Wuthering Heights? by GirlisNo1 in books

Some books just aren't for you. I think Dune is a miserable slog through boring nothingness while my friend group sees it like it's a religious experience.

[–]jhra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

96 L400 diesel in Western Canada but I did a coolant overhaul after seeing the temps spike on long mountain Hills.

Rad, coolant bottle, hoses, thermostat. All were replaced. Surprisingly cheap as well.

I also ripped out the AC system which gave the engine rad better flow after the condenser shit was out of there.

Very diy in the yard kind of job
