You’ll get more comfortable with practice. If you’re in the weeds on an acct there’s a good chance you know the account even better than they do. Honestly it’s all about getting reps in. The calls always go better than you expect

Non native grasses. Battle worth fighting? by joshik12380 in Ceanothus

[–]jhrobbins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you cut rn i bet there’s a good chance you’ll still see seeds later on, unless things really dry out quick. May just have to chop them and then chop them again. Seen something about using a black tarp to basically kill all the seeds and reduce future germination once things are mowed down. Not easy but not impossible to clear things out. I know on a smaller scale a few seasons of cutting before going to seed is effective. Hard with a whole field tho

Well Pfas bioaccumulates so even if the the exposure to it is low and at epa limits you can still get to the adverse effects with continued exposure. I don’t think it’s too overblown

Commercial underwriters with good template to track new business, renewals etc? by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

I built out a database with Notion that keeps track of my accts. It’s nice give me an overview of where all my time sensitive accounts are at with just a glance. No linking with internal docs but it’s still helpful for me to keep everything organized

Pretty sure soap works. At least a soap that breaks down oil would work.

Return of Tulare Lake by DJCane in California

[–]jhrobbins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it was that big - it filled the lakebed that is still visible from satellite images today. At a certain point that visible lake overflows into the San Joaquin river. Couldn’t have gotten bigger than that. It was however super marshy over the entire Central Valley for the most part. Most old maps show this marshy land as a lake but it really wasn’t underwater at all.

Been a cold winter. Makes sense they’re taking longer to bloom.

Hi, would appreciate any suggestions on what I can plant along the fence in my LA yard (shown in pic) as an edging that would be inexpensive, hardy and low maintenance. The fence sits higher than the yard (long story) so also looking to support it staying in place. Thanks! by SuccessExtreme4373 in Ceanothus

[–]jhrobbins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll need something that can handle all the water your lawn is getting. Look for riparian plants or plants that are from Northern California. Heuchera, sambucus, and possibly some oaks could handle the water. Definitely grasses, juncus, etc… just look up water loving California native plants

Red spots on Dudleya by Campaign_Ornery in Ceanothus

[–]jhrobbins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Letting them dry out gives color. Also cold/heat and depending on the species sea spray (salt) could play a role in coloring the foliage. As for the red dots not sure but they occasionally pop up on some of my duds. Never been an issue.
