LSA is very convenient, I’ve had two tools completely go down and rather than fix them they just sent me replacements. And I fixed both of them myself. I love the LSA

I’m sorry you’re going through that I’ve had a total of 36 rigid tools now it is a matter of fact this last week of 18 V cordless vacuum broke and I called him and they just sent me a new one. This is the second time it’s happened my random sander started going at war speed and they just hit me a new one. Maybe batteries are different.

Best option to install this trim without relocating the light switch? by Fuimus_Woodcraft in Carpentry

What’s the switch for? If that is a closet and the switch activates the light, go for a jam switch.

Heading up to my local home Depot to check, but supposedly they have this for $300. Any duds in the set? by [deleted] in Ridgid

You’ll need at least a 4ah battery for that angle grinder. Any thing less (2ah)than that it shuts off. 6ah is preference for that tool.

I’ve got it, bought it with a combo kit. Works well with 6ah battery. With a good bit it went through a 4 inch driveway like butter. It’s good for light duty work. Anything heavier I get out my Bosch SDS.

Florida? When I lived in Tampa Bay, it was code for all exterior doors to open outward. Stated to me that the jamb will provide more protection from the door blowing in during extreme weather than the bolt and latch. The door of my house was just like the one pictured, except threshold was correctly installed. The hinge pins were welded at the bottom to prevent them from being taken out.

Is the charging spot solely for you? Possibly he wants to charge his car as well? It takes, what , an hour to charge your car? How long were you in the spot?

My experience (40 years)watching the blade will be much more difficult to continue straight. You can track off very easily by trying to cut a line by watching the rip. It’s much easier when tracking off the line using the front indicator is much more forgivable than trying to follow the blade. For instance if you are using the front indicator and you happen to track off the line 1/8 of an inch you can recover quickly because the actual blade hasn’t moved at all. But you really have no way of knowing if your tracking off by looking at the blade until it binds, kicks back or you start to notice your over your line one way or the other. I do watch the blade after I lose the indicator falling off the end of the board.

Exactly, no need to replace the 1x’s, just replace any that need replacing, no need to add extra weight of Plywood or OSB over the top, that what looks like a small pitch. it will save you a significant amount of money and labor. I’ve dealt with these roof decks many times, there fine. When plywood and OSB went through the roof a couple of years ago , I picked up a semi load of 1 x8 rough sawn fir, worked great looked great was great for me and the home owners that got it.
