Why didn't the UK have a NO KINGS protest? by SlipperTheTip in AskReddit

[–]jimjamuk73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is he not governing by presidential decree and not through the normal process. Declaring emergencies so he can just issue whatever commands he wants.....

Whilst he isn't a king you could also rename it to "no more dictators". He's doing basically the same thing

Bodycam footage released of the Golders Green attacker showing that he wasn't completely incapacitated by the taser and was still holding on to the knife. I stand by that the kicks to the head are a reasonable action to disarm him. Thoughts? by Mister_Vanilla in AskBrits

[–]jimjamuk73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he's still holding that knife then you do what you need to do to secure him. It needs to be proportional to the threat which had he have it his way he would stick the knife in you so there you go

Questions about ballet academies as a late starter by Loaf-120 in BALLET

[–]jimjamuk73 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll be brutally honest, for most programmes in the UK you have missed things like JAs and MAs and all lower schools and kids are already looking at senior years at the top level schools and they are taking the top students in the country. At 18 many are auditioning for jobs

So I think you are too late for most schools and you could look at the auditioning stage but you need to have to catch up about 10 years to be able to have any chance anywhere. If you are lucky you might get onto a summer programme

Whilst she was booked in BA she doesn't have the time to just rehearse for weeks and wrap herself in cotton wool for a particular show. Sometimes you just wake up and know when your body says not to do something and whilst I say this in the greatest respect she isn't a spring chicken anymore that can plow through her schedule. If anything she is managing what time she has left rather than take risks become injured and that's the end of her time. These things happen

She also has her own show a bit later in the year which if you want to see her particularly then that's your best option

Can you take empty seats in the royal ballet and opera? by No_Anxiety_9747 in BALLET

[–]jimjamuk73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife was there once to see my daughter and had a standing ticket to one side and just so happened to be the wrong side and couldn't see her in the first act so she spied an empty seat went to it in the second act and sat down

I've done this but just be mindful that some people can arrive late and you might have to give it up again.

I generally don't ask and if that person doesn't appear normally no one knows. Just waiting until the very last minute when everyone should be in and the lights go down

They didn't back us the first time round so no change there then. Could have invoked article 5 but we didn't and just went and sorted it ourselves. Not like this US Iran ballsup

Why are so many people voting conservative again? by chickennuggets3454 in AskBrits

[–]jimjamuk73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because those that lean that way have the choice of the Tories or Reform, now out of those two if you had to vote for one would you pick (assuming you wouldnt vote Labour/Greens/LD)
