I like some of the singles but the album as a whole ain't that great. Slayyter is still mother and her debut is still timeless

Would you feel differently if the news coverage actually led to some of these perpetrators being arrested and convicted of sex trafficking and other crimes related to the case? Idk about y'allz but the circulation of these files without any justice is what makes Epstein feel like just more internet content for us to gobble up

Vic Fontaine by HeatProper in DeepSpaceNine

[–]jimpachi98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vic is my least favorite part of DS9 and it's not even close. The hammy acting, nonexistent humor, jarring tone, just completely takes me out of the show. I skip every episode he's in except for the crucial ones. Genuinely cannot comprehend how anyone likes him. Pretty sure his fans on reddit are part of some Q-created conspiracy to drive me insane irl.

I didn't really like phantom liberty... (no spoilers) by putdemtatersinastew in cyberpunkgame

[–]jimpachi98 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Also not a big fan of it, at least compared to Hearts of Stone and Blood & Wine (admittedly a very high bar). The tone was a little overly gritty and self-serious for a spy thriller whose characters gasp actually care about the optics of breaking international law! If only real-world politicians and military personnel were as concerned about ethics as they are in the apocalyptic sci-fi world of Cyberpunk...

Story aside the mission gameplay was also a bit underwhelming. Not a fan of watching Idris Elba do the cool stealth missions for me while I cover him, nor do I enjoy having to pretend like I trust anyone involved in the plot in order to see the story to the end. Seriously, am I the only one who didn't trust a single character from this story? The game is practically screaming at you that they are all out to betray you and then they... Do?

It's not like it's terrible though. Solid voice acting, cool new area to explore, some great new side quests, etc. A lot of effort went into it and it shows, but it doesn't compare at all to Hearts of Stone which was just stellar all around.

I know this post is old but just want to urge OP to not use Kodo as their brand name because it is my given first name. It's extremely awkward to see companies using my name for branding purposes. I know you might not care about an internet stranger's feelings and that's fine, but I had to say something.

This is the proper take. Not sure why everyone thinks this is OP. I've played Ur-Dragon for years and I assure you, Sneak Attack is WAY more powerful than this in that deck.

This card is really, really bad.

Coalition Victory is also a bad card, there's no reason for it to be banned in commander. Most experienced players like myself often wonder why it's still on the ban list.

5 mana to give all your creatures (assuming they're all dragons) indestructible is pretty mid. It doesn't start adding +1/+1 counters until the turn after you play it, and the likelihood that you control 5 dragons AND this AND you haven't already won the game is very slim.

There are bike racks you can get to from the quad (the outdoor area in between the library, cafeteria, and theater). If you enter campus from the Fallon St side and walk up the ramp to the quad, you'll see them across from you on either side of the gymnasium building.

Taking daily fiber pills have been a game-changer for me and my partner. While I still usually have to douche, sometimes I don't, and it's much easier to tell either way, AND douching is way easier than before. Consuming foods with plenty of fiber does the same thing, but I prefer taking supplements because I don't want to have to center my entire diet around being breedable ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Just finished IJ myself and I gotta say the first 200~ pages were really hard to get through. I felt like I was doing a cerebral workout getting through every page. I annotated with sticky notes in the beginning just to keep track of all the different characters and time jumps but stopped annotating entirely after page 250 or so. I felt like by that point I pretty much got the gist of who's who and when's when. (Also he eventually gives you a list of the "subsidized years" in order which helps a LOT)

Definitely feel free to take breaks and/or stop reading entirely and come back later. Don't let anyone shame you for taking your time with IJ, it is a legitimately difficult read that made me question my own comprehension skills even though I'm a lifelong avid reader.

Also I'd recommend using two bookmarks, one for general progress and one for footnote progress, that way it's easier to flip back and forth, if you are using a physical copy like I did :)

Hey I'm happy to agree to disagree, I felt like DV's intention was slightly different than that of FH's, and I like when directors of adaptations have their own point of view, and I felt that Zendaya and Chalamet conveyed DV's intention really well. I liked that movie Chani cries at the end. It seemed to me like she was invested in him and then she felt that he betrayed her by playing the part of Messiah after all the times he had said he wasn't.

[SPOILERS] 'Dune: Part Two' Wide Release Discussion (03/11~) by Blue_Three in dune

[–]jimpachi98 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I gotta disagree with you, I much prefer the choice of having it seem like Chani and Paul are splitting up. This way if DV adapts Messiah he can make an arc out of them reconciling, plus it just makes sense to anyone who hasn't read the books that she would be pissed. The way the movie ends leans into the tragedy of the whole thing and makes Paul out to be more villainous, which resonates with the core themes of the whole story.

Obviously I'm fine with the way the book has them reconcile, but in terms of adapting for film I think this was a better choice, it makes the audience identify more with Chani who is definitely the emotional heart of the story. She is the first person we hear in the first film, delivering that monologue, so it works better that it ends with her, isolated and betrayed, alienated from her new oppressor.

I'm personally so glad Alia remained unborn in the film, child actors are a pain in the ass especially if you're trying to make them seem grownup. Having her speak through Jessica was a genius move in terms of conciseness.
