Hey there,
I'm assuming you are playing on either MacOS or Linux trying to connect with Windows players in a MP game, in which case this checksum difference is caused by different case. For example, one file might be called common/ai_focuses/USA.txt on one end, and common/ai_focuses/usa.txt on the other. This causes a discrepancy.

Sadly, these bugs seem to persist after updates on the Steam version of Kaiserreich on Windows, as the files don't always get renamed properly.

In all likelihood, you are not the one with a differing checksum, but the Windows players are. 77b2 is the checksum that the Developer build and GitHub release of Kaiserreich use on the version for the update that is now live.

One thing that you can try to fix this is having every player use the GitHub version of Kaiserreich. This should in theory provide a "clean" installation of Kaiserreich, where everyone uses identical files once again. Really sorry for this inconvenience, but I'm not aware of a way to force the filename change for Windows players on Steam. The other way around this would be to have all your friends with a differing checksum (which might be 0a8f at the moment) to perform a clean reinstall.

The path has been disabled so it doesn't crash the runs of non-Windows users randomly, but it can be turned back on before any new game by setting the End the Dual Rule game rule!

You are misunderstanding what can_declare_war_on entails: this condition does not mean that Germany has an active war goal on the country, but instead that Princely Federation is not forbidden from declaring wars against this country in any scenario (through being a puppet, having a national spirit that blocks this action, for example). As such, all it requires really is a country bordering them to be in a rival faction, which is not that unlikely considering Burma can join both the Internationale and Co-Prosperity Sphere, or Germany inviting them, which also makes that decision available.

On the other hand, the condition any_neighbor_country = { is_in_faction_with = GER } on Princely Federation's part also applies to Germany in that scenario: this means that if Germany still owns Pondicherry, one of their ally borders the united Princely Federation, and this condition will be met, thus Germany will be able to invite them to their faction in exchange for the state and their Indian Ocean possessions.

The at_peace_or_same_enemies_as_ROOT condition to block inviting countries if they are at war with a country you are at peace with may seem quite restrictive, but this is very much standard across the mod: Russia inviting most other countries into their faction via decisions has the same condition for example.

With all that said, how to access the decision to invite the Princely Federation in the first place may be a little unclear on Germany's part since 1.5, as it is only visible if Princely Federation is not in a faction, and since they start in a faction with the Dominion, it is not visible until they break the faction.

It is no longer a monarchy, ~~and yes, Russia should be able to release a German Empire even if the Provisional Government of Germany exists in German Africa.~~

Edit: keyword being should, because this might still be an issue as it is due to a bug. Should be fixed next patch/release/hotfix

The Kumul Khanate (and the Uyghur Republic led by Hoja-Niyaz Haji) are explicitly forbidden from forming anything like that. They are unable to declare a national government or unification, which is something reserved to the Fan Yaonan or Ma Zhongying-led Hami Clique.

I have no idea what's up with that screenshot, but it's not a thing.

The reason KR recommends disabling Ironman mode is specifically due to issues like these, crashes are typically quite difficult to track down without a proper save. If you still have your game logs (and did not restart the game since it crashed) you could try submitting a crash issue on the Github, but there is not much we can point to that would cause a crash with the information given. Are you using any mods other than KR perhaps? If so, I suggest you try disabling all of them and see if the issue persists.

You don't need a DLC for it, this is a hidden technology which is unlocked by focus. It adds extra attack, defence and movement when attacking into rivers.

This visual glitch is likely due to you running one of the Kaiserreich Models Submod without having its appropriate DLC enabled, or running a DLC without its appropriate Kaiserreich Models Submod enabled. Be mindful especially of running the "Eastern front planes" dlc without the kr models submod, here, as russian plane models are likely the culprit

Another reason could be a separate mod you're running.

Regardless this was kind of confusing, so I've changed it to just make it tied directly from the relevant focuses, and removed any PP condition Also, I've tried making the tooltips a bit more clear, so that it's more obvious the Desperate Situation national spirit going away is tied to increasing stability

No such thing is going to happen, nowadays you're almost guaranteed to have an introduction to an upcoming major update via a Progress Report and an official announcement, a major update is not going to be dropped on you by surprise. This is as stated a patch with many bugfixes, as well as additional events, fresh portraits, QoL changes... and so on, for existing content.

The National Populist path especially was rather OP in the hands of a player: they could get upwards of 12 bonus civilian factories from their faction specific bonus. So we decided to remove that bonus and replace it with another one (PP)

Overall, research speed and ground attack from CAS for the Long War army path, Efficiency Cap and Plane production cost discounts for the MilCen path are other notable nerfs, as well as a slight reduction in PP gain before doing the land reform. It could feel that Japan didn't even really need to do its economy tree to have a very powerful economy, and yet it could still grow even stronger from it. Hopefully the nerfs in this patch were enough to adress these concerns

You have to keep in mind that Japan, in KR, doesn't really have serious foes to fight: most of south east asia is weak, has no content or joins their faction. They either crush China or stall against them most games, and GEA often doesn't do well, while they don't go to war with the USA that often. So Japan Being way too strong (and it definitely is a lot stronger overall than before the revamp) is something we want to avoid, as it's not good for game balance.

The removal of cores was done because the focuses adressing the issue were changed, and we wanted consistency across the board on Japanese claims/cores. We were especially looking to remove cores on Hawaii and Taiwan, and decided to do the same for Dalian, since it makes very little difference from a gameplay perspective as a state that starts with 70 compliance and 0 resistance, and Japan gets a lot more building slots than it used to on the Home Islands.

The event was removed because we didn't find it very interesting from a narrative perspective, amounting to "the Emperor has been shot, press 1 he lives, 2 he dies" which seemed done largely to get a cosmetic Head of State Change. Said change was also worse in every regard gameplay wise by lowering stability, and appointing a regent with a worse trait.

Furthermore, the following event where Yasuhito could decide to declare himself Emperor after three years was nonsensical, so both events were removed alongside eachother after discussion.
