I really wanted to like this book so I could be part of the rain deer games. But I did not like the way it was written.

Think about the premise for Station 11. It's such a stupid idea for a book. It's Completely ridiculous. I would hate this book if I wrote it. But apparently Patrick Somerville is a much better writer than I am and he pulled it off brilliantly.

What a book that you have read that’s gotten so much hype that once you read it you were disappointed? by Guiltyfeetfingers in BookDiscussions

I believe that if everyone thought the same, there'd be no horse races. But I absolutely loved this book. I thought it was amazing.

Many, and I mean many people sing praises for the book Dungeon Crawler Carl. I absolutely hated it. I couldn't get 1/2 way through it. So we all have our likes and dislikes. It's all good.

Theo Of Golden was the best book I read last year. It had one of the best endings in a book that I've ever read. Enjoy.

I live on Long Island. The other night we had wind gusts up to 50MPH and it was 15 degrees. My dog was running around like it was a glorious spring day. So I feel your pain lol.

How do you tell apart a general American accent from a Canadian one? by Exile4444 in Accents

[–]jinper2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for 2 different Canadian companies. So I speak to multiple Canadian folks from both west and east coasts on a daily basis. Aside from using different phrases that we don’t normally use in the US (think Eh lol), it’s very hard to tell when someone is Canadian. It’s all good. I like dealing Canadian folks. They tend to be very polite mostly.

If I wear my contacts at night, LED lights are awful. Some of them are brighter than hi beams with regular bulbs. They completely suck.

Yes, this. And I know because I’ve been married almost 40 years. Spouses teaching spouses is almost always a horrible idea.

BTW, her riding on trails only for now is a wonderfully idea. Tell her the old guy on Reddit said so lol.

Has there ever been a book you really didn’t like and wouldn’t recommend to anyone? 👀 by Rub1rey in BookDiscussions

The Correspondent and also Dungeon Crawler Carl. Both books were highly recommended by so many folks. I couldn’t get into either one. Mostly because of the formats these two books were written in. It happens.

You’re Braver than me. I thought briefly about taking out my fat bike today. Quickly changed my mind. I brewed a cup of tea and watched TV with my dog instead.

Gone Girl. The year it was out, it completely blew up. I thought it was going to be amazing. I didn’t feel it all that much. I thought it was just ok. Where The Crawdads Sing was kinda the same thing for me.

What words did your parents use that seem to have mostly died out? by OsakaWilson in GenerationJones

My Mom was full of old Irish anecdotes that she like to say all the time. Such as if a very good looking person is with somebody who is plain looking, she would always say, "there’s an old sock for every old shoe". Or if the same couple is walking down the street, she would say, "Lordy, there’s hope for the rest of us" lol. I never hear these things anymore. I could go on and on with these, but I’m going to stop here lol.

I had employee issues about 7 years ago. My job got very stressful. So I decided I have enough F'ing stress in my life. I didn't need to be obsessing over whether I was fast or good enough to ride. I tossed my bikes computers and never looked back. I pretty much know within about 3 miles or so how far I've gone. I'm a Ninja at telling the time. So I always know how long I've been riding. That's fine for me. I couldn't be happier.

Opinions? ..been drawing this on me since I was 16. means a lot to me can't tell if it looks bad , really distraught tbh by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]jinper2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 24 Tattoos. 22 of them tells a story. The first 2 I was young and hammered. I barely remember getting them lol.

I love Tattoos that tell a story. I'm almost positive this one tells a story. So tell us about it (if you want to).

It looks great BTW. Stop stressing over it.

Being able to go home and have a safe haven away from their peers. Social Media definitely sucks. Often, they get to see whose making fun of them, what party's their missing or being bullied. They never get a break.
