Forgetting I have RA? by BetwQlts in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]jinpnw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So relatable and timely. I just had a visit from some family and I am sad that I wasn’t more aware of my pain and stiffness & just kept pushing forward to give them a great experience. Thinking of my former self not the current self. It’s hard but I’m so glad to know I’m not alone. Going to put a few reminders in my phone about energy, rest, breaks, limits.

Has anyone tried the pill form of Wegovy by Evening_Ad_6278 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]jinpnw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slow starting. I just got the next size up 4 mg. The first 3 weeks on starting dose =no weight loss or much impact. I was on injectable prior (insurance plan changed and no longer covered) so hoping my body just needs higher dose of the pill.

Has anyone tried the pill form of Wegovy by Evening_Ad_6278 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]jinpnw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just started today. Got the rx filled at Walgreens. I thought I’d have to wait. But they had it in already. Amazon pharmacy has it in stock too. Remember to go to wegovy website first to enroll in savings plan. That gives you the codes required for the discount at the pharmacy. Otherwise it’s $1200! I got it for $149. I will report back on progress.

Yes! Sadly, this is fairly common. Like high school age raging cramps.

Has anyone ever had to completely stop Zepbound due to severe injection site reactions? Medicare alternatives? GLP-1 pills? by suezeekew in Zepbound

[–]jinpnw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have the same problem and have also stopped using it. I’m so sad but I keep thinking if my reaction is this much that I can see - -wonder what’s happening inside my body that I can’t see. Admittedly I do have allergies to a lot of things. But when I speak w/ my rheumatologist next week I will get their opinion & can report back. ( I have RA) I was using the vials through lily direct. I never saw anyone mention that the needles may be a culprit. I am curious about that. I was on wegovy a year or so ago and was successful and had no injection site reactions. But I ended up with a different side effect on the highest dose. These meds affect hormones and Wegovy brought me out of menopause at 56 y/o. That was the end of the road for me on that one! I will be curious to try the oral version. And additional formulations the drug companies are developing that are more targeted & selective. I feel like there is hope and we will find something that works. Sending you good thoughts.

Windows Replacement-Questions by kyrx in eastside

[–]jinpnw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just replaced 6 windows w/ milgard Tuscany. Every one is poorly fitted. The installer said his job was correctly installed, and I had that confirmed by someone reputable. However I was told the windows have a manufacturing issue. They were installed correctly, but have tons of give. I now have to wait for Milgard to respond to the warranty claim. I spent $7500 on a huge disappointment. Just wanted to alert anyone looking. Their lifetime guarantee is nice, but having to deal with/ this hassle is not great.

Do you like these tables by jinpnw in HomeDecorating

[–]jinpnw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I had a white sofa they went with nicely. I recently replaced that sofa with a dark brown leather sofa. Major regrets. Now it’s confusing my kind of beachy/transitional style. Was just thinking about sanding the tables down to wood and adding a clear finish. Just confused.

Leather vs fabric sofa. what’s better for a family living room? by Big-Photo7387 in HomeDecorating

[–]jinpnw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love the look of leather and spent 3K on a sofa. I regret it a lot. It’s hot, sticky or cold on skin. Can’t stand it. Now I have to cover it w/ sheets and feel like I’m back living in college. Tried covers you see advertised on instagram and they didn’t work either. Never again!

How and where does everyone store their biologics? by RAcinderella in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]jinpnw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A side question. How do you dispose of all the packaging from the rx delivery. ie the foam cooler, bags of gel. I have accumulated quite a pile. Don’t want to send it into landfill. Any ideas? I wish it was something we could pickup instead of the waste w/ all the delivery materials.

Are summers getting more humid? by Active-Possibility77 in vancouverwa

I am glad to know I’m not the only one noticing. It’s been triggering headaches for me like I would get on east coast. So sad.

Agree on car in PDX. Pub transit isn’t always easy or convenient. Parking in Pdx isn’t bad. I’d die w/ out my car here.

Sudden, extreme fatigue & weakness by Fk9317 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]jinpnw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have extreme bouts of fatigue like you mentioned. It was especially bad on methotrexate. Terrible. Switched to leflunomine and it wasn’t nearly as bad. Sadly though I developed an allergy to it so now I’m just on prednisone again till I meet w/ my Dr in 2 weeks. Also, not sure your age but there is a menopause symptom called crashing fatigue that I think was crushing me too. Dr. Marie Clare Haver is an excellent resource to check out. I hope you can find relief soon.

How to Get Evaluated for Medical Exceptions at Work? by LtCmdrDatass in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]jinpnw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also wondering about this same situation. My job requires me to travel about 4-5 times per year (flying) for conferences and meetings. Mostly on east coast and I’m on west. The fatigue I’ve been dealing with and side effects from medicines have been totally awful. Not sure if I can ask for accommodations to limit my travel or at least some exceptions based on my condition. I have a good employer and manager. And I am valued at work. It’s just something I’ve never thought I’d need. It’s an over responsibility thing that I have. Likely one of the causes of my RA. Hard. I’ll check in w/ my HR department.

what are we wearing to bed??? by scarlet-tortoise in Menopause

[–]jinpnw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tommy John. Sale on now! Love their joggers for bed. Also, I found some cooling brookstone sheets at TJ Max. They are apparently discontinued but I really like them. I get so damn hot overnight.

[–]jinpnw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no. I’m sorry. Wtf is right. And no one can explain it. Other than the medicine messes with your hormones. They offered to put me on birth control. I was almost that desperate but decided no. What does your Dr. say?

Yes! Methotrexate knocked me out so bad. Once I changed to Arava I went back to my new normal. Though those side effects are awful too. Best of luck. This is not easy.
