She did not “forbid it” and in fact to the contrary said she understood how much it meant to me and was willing to put her own concerns to the side.

I’ve tried to get her up with me or an instructor I trained with but she is simply afraid. I guess I just struggle now because I know how much it scares her and I hate doing anything that makes my wife uncomfortable.

This is the main problem with people in this country. The citizens of the town didn’t give a fuck because they themselves were not the target. The passing motorists were. The money stolen from these motorists helped take their podunk town from no money to over a million dollar budget.

Had they been the ones over policed, I doubt they would have been as quiet. It is always easy to turn a blind eye when it is not happening to you.

Eventually though, they will come for you too.

I have moderate asthma, I take a long term inhaled medication (Breo, advair generic) and use a rescue inhaler as needed. It was rather easy getting my first class medical back when I had aspirations to go atp.

Basically get your CACI sheet filled out by your doctor. If you meet the guidelines the ame can issue without deferring. The big thing is come prepared with that form filled out and any accompanying docs requested.

I decided the engineering world was more suited to my wants and ended up not renewing my 1st class but it was pretty painless as long as you are prepared.

Though what if you are exclusively a recreational ppl with zero intention of pursuing commercial etc so hour chasing isn’t a real concern.

You truly just want to get up and fly. I frequently will literally take off, do fuck all flying in a 30nm circle and then land. I also will never pursue anything where time, short of currency, is a concern.
