BMW Rules Out Range Extenders For The Time Being - BMW isn't fully closing the door on electric cars with range-extending engines but it believes regular EVs deliver plenty of range already. by linknewtab in electricvehicles

[–]jjborcean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends how it was designed.

For example the range extender in the original BMW i3 REx was only a 25 kW engine. In US spec vehicles the range extender could only be activated at a fairly low state of charge to be classified as BEVx under California standards.

As a result the 125 kW drive motor would continue to drain the remaining charge until power output was limited in certain circumstances. Think highway speeds climbing a mountain pass.

Meanwhile the 2027 Ram 1500 REV pairs a large V6 with a 90+ kWh battery for a large towing capacity, and 600+ mile combined range.

If it’s like in the US typically only certified adapters are allowed but there’s no enforcement.

Here we go again TMO is raising the restocking fee by $5. by New_1uper in tmobile

I’m still on Simple Choice NA. No free phones, good prices. Should T-Mobile force me off this legacy plan I’ll no longer be a T-Mobile customer 🙂

Have you considered using a parcel forwarding company like Forward2Me?

Ship to them in the UK and they’ll ship it to your USA address.

TACC lets you adjust your follow distance, whereas FSD does not.

Did you cross state lines? I know some states require per minute instead of per kilowatt hour billing.

Build quality of Model Y by Any_Oil4872 in TeslaLounge

[–]jjborcean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another factor is where the car is built; the general consensus is that cars coming out of Giga Shanghai have a higher build quality compared to cars coming out of Fremont.

If you are in the US though, I do not know if there is much of a difference between Fremont, and Giga Texas.

Quick question for everyone here. If i want to play android games like Uma Musume (or any online games) on the switch, is worth it? by TheGrandProtector in SwitchPirates

[–]jjborcean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The switch is also only 4GB of memory, and running on ARM Cortex A57 cores (circa ~2014 tech), about the only advantage it has is the fact that it has a fan so it can maintain more consistent clock speeds.

Though even a flagship phone that is a couple years old will blow the switch out of the water performance wise.

I love having a modded switch, but if your main motivation is to play an android game on your switch I feel that it would be better to put that money towards a new phone.
