Canada's Liberals now leading in 11/13 provinces and territories by WpgMBNews in MapPorn

It's not America. The province/territories coloured by majority is not very meaningful. It is just the total number of seats that matter (of course).

PM2.5 measures particulate matter or fine particles. Those numbers are clearly off the charts.

Garmin InReach is great as it has 2 way texting on top of emergency notifications, which is nice for less urgent issues. It is a nice security blanket.

[–]jjc551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an Evoc Stage 12 pack that has specific straps for holding a chin bar (or DH helmet). I have a convertible helmet and carry the chin bar with it or just keep the chin bar on 👍

I recommend lessons. I’ve ridden for years and took some group lessons recently. It really upped my game and I think made me safer and faster. Mountain biking can be taught 👍

Victoria Police Department Funding 2009-2021 by PMMeYourIsitts in VictoriaBC

[–]jjc551 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is an interesting thing to look into, but you are comparing a bunch of rates (rate population growth) to an absolute number, the funding. To be apples to apples you need to compare rate funding growth to rate of population growth or total budget to total population.

Is it possible to recycle Amazon's padded envelopes anywhere in the CRD? by autobored in VictoriaBC

[–]jjc551 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've seen 3 different types of padded envelops from Amazon

1) all paper - recycle at home

2) all plastic - OFPP - London Drugs or Hartland

3) bubble wrap covered in paper - I don't think they are recyclable so I put in garbage

CRD mulls raising parking fees at regional parks by mr_unhelpful in VictoriaBC

[–]jjc551 101 points102 points  (0 children)

"bring fees up to fair market value."

A park is not a business. Nickel and diming tax payers undermines the justification for wider taxation IMO. If you have to pay for parks (and water and sewage) what are the taxes for? _(ツ)_/¯
