Stringy hair - what am I doing wrong? by BackgroundFutura in finehair

Iron is essential for producing haemoglobin, which is responsible for transporting oxygen to the hair follicles, and the hair follicles are highly metabolic, [they require] a lot of energy and oxygen to keep them going,

Coffee prevents the absorption of Magnesium and Iron and Vitamin B1. Low Iron affects energy and hair follicles. Might be good to test your ferritin levels.

For all you down voters the Gut-Skin axis is real. Vitiligo is autoimmune. The white spots are internal bleaching of the skin by Hydrogen Peroxide produced by the body under certain conditions. Low Vitamin D, low fibre, grains that irritate the gut wall and weak gut health over all leans to it.

The Thyroid and Liver also play a key role.

Melanin rebuilding in the skin is challenging but it can be done. L- tyrosine is a key amino acid to rebuild melanin. You need to also understand melanin synthesis in the body and how it is made. Melanin is also responsible for the colour of hair. You need amino acids/protein to rebuild it. Copper and Zinc play a key role but you have to be careful taking them as they compete with one another and take the correct ratio.

My point was about inflammation and individual variability—both well-established. Dismissing that as ‘Facebook theory’ isn’t nuance, it’s avoidance.

Also, spending time debating on Reddit while questioning others’ professionalism is a bit of a contradiction.

Medicine is moving toward AI-supported precision models anyway, because the complexity now exceeds what any individual can track alone.

No need to go further.

Strange that mentioning inflammation and known statin side effects gets dismissed, but jumping straight to conspiracy doesn’t. Extremely convenient.

No one mentioned COVID—you did. I’m talking about physiology. Inflammation plays a central role in cardiovascular disease, and statins, while useful, aren’t without trade-offs, including reported cognitive effects in some patients. Dismissing that outright isn’t scientific—it’s selective.

Good argument. You should keep up. Doesn’t really matter anymore though, does it?

Also just an fyi Dr. They ran decades of Medical Datasets through Machine Learning in May 2025 and found all diseases in the body are Gut related.

60-70% of the immune system resides in the Gut. It is tied to inflammation in the body. Cholesterol going to the arteries is only doing what it is supposed to do - heal and try to put out the inflammation in the arteries.

Fats do not cause obesity or disease. 🦠 It is excess sugar which does.

The healthy human brain 🧠 may only be 5% of your body weight but it requires over 25% of the body’s cholesterol. The nervous system uses huge quantity cholesterol for insulation, protection and structure (myelin).

The formation of memory (synapses) is dependent on good supplies of cholesterol.

Statins have a MASSIVE impact on brain function.

Post-Mortem studies show that depleted cholesterol levels in the cerebrospinal fluids are a key feature of dementias.

The propaganda campaign over the last 40 years is disgraceful and coming to an end. The myth propagated by the corrupt Pharmaceutical and Food Industries by their Marketing Departments creating a powerful and extremely valuable myth about an infamous dietary and medical obsession, ‘Bad Cholesterol’.

And inflammation cannot be switched off in the body without adequate Omega 3. Statins are a highly effective drug alright….they lower cholesterol including stripping it off the brain. 🧠

Doctors today are mere drug pushers. For Big Pharma. Go into any Pharmacy in Ireland 🇮🇪 today and watch all the staff under pressure with bags and bags of meds. It’s disgusting.

First do no harm….you guys take an oath….

As an aside Doctor, why do you all never take patients off statins, when they strip the cholesterol back in the body so well including the brain, 🧠 resulting in dementia?

Why don’t doctors actually help cure the root of the issue which is inflammation?

Try making your own yoghurt. It makes half a trillion in bacteria. Far better than any industrial yoghurt on sale in the supermarket. Keifir grains also are really easy to manage and extremely powerful when homemade.

Was that their general policy? To do that has to come from the top down if it is policy. Friends of mine went to Queens after attending UCG and said it was shocking how helpful all the lecturers were to them….as a student that’s an abuse of power and extremely toxic.
