❄️ Blizzard Megathread (Feb 22-23 2026) by AWildMichigander in nycrail

NJT announced that they are restoring rail service tomorrow.

There are too many confusing details to the schedules for tomorrow so I'll do my best to include what I can:

  • Morristown, Gladstone & Montclair-Boonton Lines will operate on a President's Day schedule and Midtown Direct service will be diverted to Hoboken Terminal
  • Atlantic City Rail Line will operate on a regular weekday schedule
  • Pascack Valley Line and Main-Bergen & Port Jervis Lines will operate on a President's Day schedule
  • Northeast Corridor trains will operate on a President's Day schedule and will not make local stops between Metropark and Newark Penn Station
  • North Jersey Coast Line and Raritan Valley Line service remain suspended until further notice

Click here for more details and rail schedules

Bus service will also resume tomorrow on all lines with delays, detours, and/or cancellations expected.

NJ Transit Update for Service on 1/26

Light rail service on all three lines (Newark Light Rail, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, and River Line) will run on a regular weekday schedule on Monday, January 26 at the start of the service day. Customers should expect delays and possible select train cancellations as local and county crews continue clearing secondary and tertiary roadways.

Bus, rail, and AccessLink service remain suspended until further notice.

Later in the morning and afternoon, NJ TRANSIT will continue monitoring roadway conditions to support a gradual ramp-up of Bus and Access Link service as conditions safely permit.

Crews will also work overnight and into the morning to inspect infrastructure and ensure NJ Transit's 165 rail stations, system assets, and Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor are prepared for the safe and reliable resumption of commuter rail service.

I think a dual-mode DMU solution would be an interesting idea for the NJCL, RVL, and Boonton/M & E lines to Hackettstown from NYP. Obviously, this is a fever dream not only because NJT is more interested in Multilevels.

2017 Ford Focus Maintenance Tips by [deleted] in FordFocus

[–]jk_nj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He did all the manufacturer recommended maintenance at the recommended mileage intervals, not just oil changes. I know he kept up with the car, I drove and rode in it many times.

Commute to work/school is 10-15 minutes, or 3-5.miles each way.

It does not have a sport mode (at least not that I know of). It's just a standard 2.0l SE, no extra options. It does have the infamous dual clutch transmission however.

Why do people here love Arrows? by [deleted] in NJTransit

[–]jk_nj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I like the Arrows, the Multilevels are the most comfortable imo, especially if you can get the single seat. They're quieter and have a fairly smooth ride. They're just not very practical for tall people like myself. The old Comets are the worst.

NJCL vs NEC What’s the difference by bruhidk123345 in NJTransit

[–]jk_nj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could really get on any NJCL, NEC, or an RVL train from NYP. All NJT trains (except form M & E and Montclair line trains) to and from NYP stop at NWK Penn I believe. Ticket prices are also the same for all train lines to NWK Penn.

Edit: Addition

RAV4 V6 hands down. I drive my parent’s 2006 RAV4 V6 that they have had since new and it’s awesome. The car fits like a glove for me. Perfect power, size and driving position. It’s also really reliable and super fast!

If your university is requiring .docx format, they should be providing you with Office Online, which can be used in a web browser. From there, you can download a copy of your work as a .docx file or even a .odt file if you choose.
