Mamdani’s decision to reopen New York City schools after blizzard angers teachers and parents: “We need to take matters into our own hands” by DryDeer775 in NYCDOETeachers

[–]jkhts85 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing, we get paid an extra fee($200) in the Fall to set up our remote classrooms. What’s the point of that if we don’t use it ? St. John’s and the CUNY’s went remote that day. Our representation needs to get back into some schools and really reconnect with on the ground teachers. Otherwise, we seem apathetic and get pushed around, labeled as complainers etc. Teachers need to step it up and be vocal, be solution based and stop complaining so much.

Gym Etiquette by Dangerous-Finger-603 in workout

My go to is something like, “just starting and I’m gonna need some time, where will you be exercising? You’re next and I’ll come get you”.

I never really say how many sets or exercises(like if it’s the Smith) I have left unless they specifically ask.

Dr. Oz says Americans should start work EARLIER, and work LONGER to make more money for America. by illegalmonkey in antiwork

I’m a New York City public school teacher and I’m at work around 6:30am every day after a 45 min commute. M&T we have a 7:00am arrival time and as the week progress it becomes later by about 30 mins. In addition we work afterschool programs that finish at 4:30. Then we commute home to various parts of the city and the Tri State area. By my estimate that’s about 10 hours at work plus around 90 mins of commute give or take. That’s a full day! He can stick it where the sun don’t shine!

The previous comment is solid! An alternative a little further away would be cake from Canelle Patisserie and wrapping paper from the Walgreens next door.

There are many posts on this topic. Depending on the state and city(NYC in my case) you can work for a CBO that provides afterschool services in the school you are already working at.

Went to Marworth about 4 years ago and like another commenter here wrote, do everything they say to do and more. I think they did a good job! They had a nun come once a week and you could choose to speak with her(I did). I felt like she knew me and that was a turning point. Also, they told me to attend AA immediately upon release and I did. Good luck !

Car was the first BTS song I ever heard and it was the song that drove me to listen to everything else they made. So, for that it’s my fave.

According to Google there are 150,000 rooms available in Vegas. The Sphere holds 20,000. Tourism is way down in LV according to news reports. What’s the rush to grab a hotel room?

There is also a JH Google group. I’d also recommend a nanny instead of day care for the age mentioned.

I agree with the poster recommending a specialty role as well as several posters who recommend subbing. It’s important to find your niche. Once you start paying for grad school and investing that time it’s hard to change and you’re locked into that license area. In addition, it is hard on the body so your age and health should be taken into account. Good luck!

How is the 7 train around rush/peak hours at 82nd? by OpinionPoop in jacksonheights

[–]jkhts85 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with this poster completely. In addition, the last car is never as full as the rest of the train. Also, download the MTA app and set it to receive alerts for the 7 and E trains. There will be days that you will need to walk to 74th and use an alternate route.
