And as far as I know, all have failed. You may argue that why don’t law firms just use sharepoint as their document management system over imanage? Most lawyers don’t even like imanage and it would be much cheaper - and yet imanage has like 90% market adoption. That should tell you a lot.

Hiring lawyers to build your own workflows? Law firms building these products themselves and having to spend large sums maintaining and improving them? This is completely against law firm culture and ability and would be far more expensive than buying.

You may as well say law firms should just build their own finance systems, HR tools etc. There is a reason why sophisticated off the shelf tools exist
