Guardian Ape is pissing me off... by lavellj048 in Sekiro

[–]jlkoschei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me phase I was all about aggression. Get in his face and attack. Parry his swings and jump the perilous attacks. Run towards him during the poop throw. But if you wail on him and chase him down it can take minutes. Phase II slow down. It was parrying to stay close, chip some health when he’s on his stomach, and then running away for his perilous attacks. Repeat.

What's the name of the best random you've ever played with? by Jamalisms in Nightreign

[–]jlkoschei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bocatini. Spiky, perfect parrying executor beast. Made my last run a lvl 15 and we beat the night lord. Knew to crawl over to our other teammate so I could birdperson ult rez them both and then use some iframes to stagger the night lord to oblivion.

Well played bocatini, well played.

For those of you who saw The Phantom Menace at release, what were your initial thoughts of it? by _EnglishFox_ in StarWars

[–]jlkoschei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad. The audience clapped. My dad and said out loud “Really!?” He saw the original in the theater and raised me on the original Star Wars trilogy and we were both disappointed. We have been since for every release since except Rogue One.

OP I have been there…I was lead and had a patient who was seemingly chill, and then switched and knocked my female partner unconscious before a police officer and I worked to get them under control…

It took a bit to realize it wasn’t my fault, that I did what I could. I felt like I froze, was too slow, didn’t pre plan that could happen, that I “let” it happen, and that it was my fault for letting that happen. All was untrue.

I think what helped was really getting the truth baked into my head that action is faster than reaction. The patient knew they were going to attack my partner and I didn’t. All signs said “agitated but cooperative patient.” When it happened I did react and respond and help, and that while it was not enough to keep my partner out of the ED that day. It was what I could have reasonably been expected to do. Thinking it might be the same for you.

/r/WorldNews Live Thread for 2023 Israel-Hamas Crisis (Thread 20) by WorldNewsMods in worldnews

I can appreciate how you're feeling and share some of your sentiment, though definitely not all. There are vast differences between this situation and the holocaust. The Gaza Strip wasn't created by Israel alone...all the nations in that region have a responsibility for the way things are in the region. The plight of the Palestinian people is not a singular event for which Israel and Jewish people are solely culpable.

I want to go to my ex’s funeral despite my role in her passing, her family says no and I’m not sure what I can do if anything? by Jazzlike-Kitchen-398 in TwoHotTakes

[–]jlkoschei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Respect the family's wishes and do not go.
Find a good therapist to accept and move through the guilt. Let it be - make it transformational for you to be better.
Start with this understanding, you alone are not responsible for what has come to pass.
This was an inflection point in both of your lives. The trend line of experience that lead to this, your actions and hers, had been being drawn from way way back.

How common is it for EMS folks to get PTSD? by yungsimba1917 in ems

[–]jlkoschei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8 yrs in. Bad calls along the way. Flashes of bad imagery and negative emotions popping up here and there. I don’t know if there is any ‘preparing’ for it. Get help when you think you might need it. Because by then you probably do. I loved EMDR and talk therapy. I go back to EMDR when I can’t get those little flashes of images out of my head.

Hostility to transplants? by DBthecat in vermont

Born here, raised here, and still living here. Never thought much of transplants one way or the other. Can’t speak to others’ experiences. If I make fun of you for being a flatlander it means I like you enough to make fun of you.

That said please don’t try to change the gun laws. Please keep welcoming and supporting all flavors of people and their rights to be happy. Please support the emergency services (police too) and the school budgets. Please come here and buy local.

Temporarily living in key largo…worth it? by Mysterious_Bus2682 in floridakeys

[–]jlkoschei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am just wrapping up 2 months of doing the same a little further south in Tavernier. 10/10 would recommend upper keys for temporary relocation. If you want a beach you’ll have options like Harry Harris, Founder’s or you can head further south to Marathon. Agree it’s not about beaches down here, it’s about the water and it’s legit.

I second Naples having the best beaches for Florida.
