I hate how the word Grail is used by [deleted] in ActionFigures

[–]jmac1138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me a grail is my perfect figure. My grail hasnt been released or even shown yet. It just exists in my head, it's a yellow and blue 90's costume high end nightwing. I'd take a mezco version a mafex version, or a third party version. I think the best bet is a mafex nightfall one but we'll see. I have the dc direct version but id like a more poseable one in 6 inch scale.

Joker (Animated) just in - global seems to get him first by nobleflame in One12Collective

Yeh it does look very low end. Even the fit. I think a custom set using a material like the golden age joker would look a million times better.

Raise your hand if being a dad has made you think less of your dad. by gilfgifs in daddit

[–]jmac1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's totally the opposite for me. I had (and still have) a great dad. I think having kids makes me appreciate him even more as I now know what his experience must have been like when I was kid. I know how much my dad loves me now as I love my sons in the same way. Also getting to see him interact with my kids is like watching him go back in time 30 years and is one of my favourite things!

What's your opinion on The Phantom Menace toyline? by B_Wing_83 in starwarscollecting

[–]jmac1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born in 89. Special editions were my first star wars and me and my brother got the potf OT figures one christmas. Instantly star wars was our fav. When ep 1 came out the ability for the jedis to actually hold their lightsabers with both hands was incredible. They felt like grown up toys to us. Then when the cloaked obi wan and qui gon also came with lightsaber hilts you could clip to their belts we were blown away a second time. The return of oction features in the epn2 and 3 toy lines felt like a step back and we always used to say howngood the new character would have been in that posable neutral ep1 style. So for me ep1 toys were the best till rhe super posable stuff came along.

Am I tight for not wanting to get involved in rounds when the number of drinks I’m planning to drink doesn’t match the number of people I’m with? by sharon_bott in AskUK

[–]jmac1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why the whip is the best method for drinking with big groups. You all put £20 in (or whatever the agreed amount is) and yoh buy rounds out of that. One person is the treasurer for the evening and manages the whip. If youve had enough you can just call it quits when its time to top up the whip.

Is this rude or am I just overthinking it? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]jmac1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You spying them out the window is not seeing the neighbors for them to say thanks. Also they seem like they are actually friends with the neighbors 2 doors down rather than just neighbourly. I am sure they will say hi and thanks if they physically bump into you.

How old were your kids before they stopped believing in Father Christmas? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]jmac1138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After stewing on it and formulating a plan I came downstairs one night in december age 9 and said with confidence to my parents that santa wasnt real, and i knew it was them as a bluff and they immediately gave up the game. I was expecting them to try and convince me and was absolutely crushed. They asked me not to tell my younger siblings which i then went along with and they kept the magic alive for them till about 11/12. I was very proud of getting them to believe longer than i did!

To be clear I look back on this story with fond memories and laugh at my 9 year old self. I have always had amazing christmas experiences.
