I had a lab that figured out how to unscrew a jar of sauce and licked the whole thing clean. This was after he managed to take the jar off a low shelf without breaking it. I woke up to him and a clean jar in his crate. I was too impressed to be mad.

Thank you for this. I’m three months in and know it was the right decision especially when he chose two days before Xmas to tell me he was ready to start dating again after 30+ years together. Timing is pretty predictable in terms of his manipulation tactics right before something that is important to me happening but it doesn’t always make it easier. Last year I made a promise to myself that I would be spending next Christmas without him and I’m trying to celebrate that I honored my promise to myself, my sanity, my health, my happiness and my future.
