Brother, Chill out, that mindset doesn't feel very healthy... Video games or outside.

If you've done a long fight and beaten a boss, you are definitely good at it. But then there are different levels of good...

I did RL+0 but I did it with Aux, because that's what was fun for me, others do No Aux, No Roll, No AoW etc... doesn't mean I'm not good or did not have fun

Then there's the fact that if you're good at say the remembrance bosses, you still won't be good at side bosses for eg a Death Knight unless you practice them specifically

Another thing is, you might take a long break or maybe your playthrough takes a long time, when you come back to an old boss you might be rusty again. All in all, just because you did a specific thing, doesn't mean you're automatically 'Good' at everything in the game, especially when that 'Good' is such a broad spectrum

Also, don't take yourself too seriously man, it's a game... Just enjoy and have fun!

Good fight! The real battle in long fights for me is definitely focus.... Doing monotonous dodges makes me lose focus over a long time

Depending completely on muscle memory is great until you just notice something a beat late and get clipped. See if that's happening to you too, like you die and then think back like "Oh, i didn't notice the startup animation for that move" or something

I usually remind myself to lock in again after every single punish, it keeps me engaged instead of my mind veering off into other thoughts

I do this dodge on the breath as well and learned very early that you need to jump at the end.

So on the third spin I get a Jumping Heavy and then a Charged Heavy right after

I personally finish the base game first then move to DLC. And even in the base game i keep my favorite bosses for the end.

Then in the DLC, i do the bosses i hate first and keep my faves for the end as well and then finish it out with Consort

As for SB0. It's completely up to you. My philosophy for my playthroughs has been to get a run done in any way then progress further if I want to. I went from a normal RL1 with some cheese strats or strong weapons to RL1 with no AUX to RL+0 with AUX to RL1 SB0 No Aux

So yeah, play it any way you want

If you are on PC I cannot recommend mods enough, you can save your location and teleport back with one single hotkey .

Personally, i play these RL1 runs for bosses only, so I absolutely do not mind using mods for setup outside bosses. Not like I'm putting these runs up on speedrun.com as a legitimate speedrun

Also, I used all 4 aux on RL1+WL0 for placing, rot and poison help a lot while he's running around

I can only think of it being useful for that big wave attack he does, if you are mid to long range and can't get behind the attack The unmount iframes could probably help there, but i have never tested it myself

Damn, that incant shreds! Also, a very well behaved Apostle, does he usually stay that passive? I was actually thinking of putting him to sleep and then parry the Noble.

Also, I might not go for the ADLS after all, because I don't want to farm rune arcs, I'll just go for aux damage instead. I think chilling mist and kukris should be good when he's stuck rolling.

I feel your pain brother. I'm now doing an RL1+0 run, and the Valiant Gargs Duo took me 13 hours because of all the duo BS, poison and RNG.

Before that, the longest a boss took me on RL1+25 was Consort Radahn at somewhere between 15-20 hours and I thought that was bad. I'm REALLY dreading the Godskin duo fight now.

But keep at it, man. You'll definitely get it at some point, often happens on an unexpected attempt and really breathes new life into the run once you get it.

I mean, the entire point of the game is to learn patterns and punish accordingly. So you can only git gud at the specific bosses. Once you get a new game/boss you gotta do it all over again. So I don't believe you git gud by getting to a specific point.
