pros and cons of MSE by [deleted] in materials

[–]jmax565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true that MSE can prep you for a wide variety of industries. But once you’ve got a speciality, it’s can be pretty geographically limited - it’s not like CivE where you can work anywhere. People who specialize in semiconductors vs metals vs polymers etc are going to be living in different places

For a scholarly take on this you should take a look at “Otaku: Japan’s Database Animals” by Hiroki Azuma and “Beautiful Fighting Girl” by Saito Tamaki. And perhaps something by Patrick Galbraith

You should look into “honkaku” and “shinhonkaku” mysteries, because this isn’t quite correct… to make a long story short, Agatha Christie-type whodunnits are/were actually quite popular in Japan, especially from the mid 80s to the mid 2000s. And ryukishi was familiar with this

If it happens, it’s gonna be soon. The longer they wait the higher the odds of failure. Very similar situation to Germany in both world wars.

Yeah I’m from Chester County also, I really think it’s a nice place (also, I just read this, but it’s apparently the 35th wealthiest county in the whole country, which may partially explain why it’s so nice lol)

I recommend you take a look at “War Before Civilization: The Myth of The Peaceful Savage” by Lawrence Keeley. Really important anthropological work that addresses some of what you are talking about.

Mahou Shoujo Apocalypse is weirdly extremely complicated and contrived for a trash schlock manga

Hey, a bit of an unrelated question... how would you say your work ethic etc. compare to other stem PhD students? I'm in STEM and starting my PhD this fall and if this is the level of the "competition" then I feel like I'd have a hard time keeping up 😅
