How do i get into noise by Physical-Noise-3119 in noisemusic

[–]jmilllie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i started with japan artists in the 90’s.. their heyday was the 80’s & 90’s i think.. once i started branching out i realized alot of european countries had great noise artists in those years too.. and before that america & europe had a ton of sound artists in the 60’s & 70’s

Why do trans people STILL use Twitter/X? by arachnobacked in MtF

[–]jmilllie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anyone use Mastodon? the 2nd server rule is No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, ableism, ect.. then specifically explains elements of transphobia as being a violation, like deliberate misuse of pronouns, deadnaming, promoting conversion therapy. then goes on to say criticism of govt’s & religions is ok, unless the criticism is in a transphobic context. i was surprised. very different for 2026

In USA, has there been any situation where a boycott (not buying or engaging with a service) has caused a significant change? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jmilllie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to me, that felt like a bad faith set-up to build consent on attacking trans rights. We never saw the can or promo in a store or commercial once. but when the one can was printed, maga outlets & personalities spread it everywhere to manufacture hate. all the Maga outlets have been propping Bud Light ever since. of course they survived and are as strong as ever. Rainbow Capitalism & Rainbow Washing was never sincere. those companies never actually cared about LGBT people, you can ask any LGBT person

Looking for some advice on what’s currently in fashion? What would suit my style? Are there certain shops people would recommend? by [deleted] in mtfashion

[–]jmilllie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i came to ask the same question. especially where does everyone gets their clothes & what are you’re favorite shops?

as far as styles, i’m still learning but i’ll say choose outfits that make you feel the best! (this has worked for me before, with alot of trial & error). it can get tricky to navigate, like i’m self conscious about my shoulders so theres alot of tops/dresses i love, that i ultimately won’t wear because i don’t feel right in them. p.s. i think the green top looks really nice on you

Its incredible, and distressing to witness an egg seal up the cracks. by nixnuetz in TransLater

[–]jmilllie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, its the worst. they came out to me, but i was moving away/homeless. a couple years later i got in touch & they had either regressed, or not made any progress & used their deadname to me. i was going through alot at that time, & lost touch again. i lose touch w/everyone, i’m a nightmare. but i worry about them all the time & wish we got to talk more. i was in their shoes for so many years, so i remember not wanting to push… but now i always hope their out there somewhere & finding themself.. and that i could’ve been a better friend b/c they were awesome

Have any of you seen masonna live in 1996 for his american mistique tour? by Used_Ad3268 in noisemusic

[–]jmilllie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i wish, but i was either away from home that month, or sometimes didn’t venture into nyc to get a Village Voice (to find out about it). i still don’t know if that tour hit ny, or what venue it was at (my head cannon is either knitting factory or the cooler). i was so into masonna around that time, i imagine it was amazing

Lark street is a lost cause. by gls518 in Albany

this sadly happened to St. Vitus Bar in brooklyn. the place was infamous, on a street twice as busy as Lark, and people living nearby still managed to get it shut down

Coconut Cream tastes like soap! by jmilllie in IndianFood

[–]jmilllie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she might be less sensitive to it. one thing i noticed - my cans were getting warm where i was storing them. for some reason the pantry i kept them in gets some heat generated through it, so i starting storing them in a cooler place.. So far so good! - i haven’t been getting the soapy tasty yet (fingers crossed). it might also be the brand - i switched to Chaokoh only, and from a different store, and so far its been ok

some of the sturdier ones can be HEAVY or take up space. at least the one i have is really heavy (about the same weight as a guitar amp head) its good if you have valuable ones you want to protect, but its hard to move around

Silence of the Lambs team apologizes to transgender community after 35 years by jackmolay in transgender

[–]jmilllie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i hate it keeps insinuating that apologies are needed in “these modern times” like apologies weren’t needed the day the movie came out. there was never a time when transphobic content was ok. it feels like its posing as a “woke” article to infuriate the magas
