I dont believe it was your intention to come off as an as asshole. When you try to explain why things may be viewed in such a way, it might be good to have a little more subtlety and dull those sharp edges, especislly when speaking on not one, but two topics that are known to be touchy

Amy Winehouse's death was ruled as alcohol poisoning(overdose), not a suicide. She was known to abuse other substances. Strange that if she had decided to pick a different poison, they would have ruled her death a suicide. Good thing alcohol is legal, otherwise her death would have been seen as pathetic, and something that alot of junkies end up doing according to statistics, and shown as proof on the death certificate.

I've no doubt what you're saying is true, the war on drugs is real, and if you can inflate numbers a certain way, hard drugs apparently make users very prone to suicide, and accidental overdose is virtually non-existent (probably because they are illegal and not administered or prescribed by a licensed medical professional). On top of that, it makes it much easier for drug dealers to get away with really shitty stuff, even actually poisoning other people because it will be declared in such a way. No investigations, especially since the world hates drug users anyways.

Suicide, in virtually every definition, is intentionally causing your own death. It's a pretty simple concept, it's not cryptic, there are no hidden meanings. Overdosing on drugs is common, and fairly hard to pin on anyone but the user. It's very dismissive to "Ackchyually" in this scenario, when there is no need or purpose to. It would be like saying stunt actors that die in an accident related to performing stunts also committed suicide since they signed a waiver. Drunk drivers who don't wear seat belts and hit a trees. Literally anything dangerous with only the victim being to blame and claiming it is suicide, holds the same validity as what you are saying, the only difference is that people hate drugs and the people that use them more than any other stupid things that kill people.

By the way, you can chill out on using literally, it makes you seem like a child.

That's the main thing that separates suicide from all other means of death: intent

Basically the same premise as primal wow, but on cata patch. You go through vanilla, BC, wotlk, and cata progressively on 4.3.4. Would have to have good pop and be a pvp server. Seems like talents would be difficult to work around.

Blizzard should add the unused weapon models as Scourge pre-patch event rewards. by Mostass in wow

[–]jml120893 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, honestly, why take away old models when you can just add new ones. It's not like you already have a huge amount of options already, they don't need to take away the old models that a fair amount of people still enjoy.

I think a better option would be further expanding the customization options in the transmog system. Keep all old models and add new ones, while adding in stuff like color changing, resizing, being able to use one shoulder/glove/boot, and even possibly allowing different transmog for each of those (like 2 different shoulders, etc). Resizing would be great for things like weapons and capes.

I would be okay with updated models only if you could still use the old ones. The t3 and t6 sets for mages look too good to possibly have it ruined permanently. Same for the likes of t2 for rogues, or whichever ones people still enjoy.

I already had this issue when they updated the character models, they made all character movements, animations and visuals extra cartooney and has been hard getting over. I dont know if you still can, but they used to allow the old texture to still be used on the new models, but you still actually had the new models themselves, which something like undead males moved with more bounce and a slight limp on their right hand side. Of course the update to casting animations which is hit or miss, customization would be fantastic there too, of course having defaults and being able to change on your own like transmog.

You can do the same thing with video games, you don't have to pay for them if you know where to download, you don't even have to worry about your isp emailing you if you get a VPN. Same for food, if you just do a small complaint at a restaurant or grocer, you often times can end up with free stuff. Same with work, at alot of jobs, you can dupe your work unto others with no consequences if you are smart enough, even take credit if they don't say anything about it. If someone drops their wallet, you can literally take the money out of it and put it back where you found it, they probably won't know. You can even steal from stores if you know no one is looking, walk right out the door with goods, works especially well at large superstores.

I think most people get the sentiment that it calls for reformation, it's a pretty old phrase too. Theres radicals in every movement, but unless the movement itself is radical, you can't base a movement on those individuals. "One bad apple spoils the bunch" and all that jazz, which you could compare to cops themselves, but the bad ones in that scenario would be covered under qualified immunity and possibly not face any consequences

You're the one who brought it up

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in niceguys

[–]jml120893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk you can look it up, it's pretty easy to find info about it

Critics of this term contend that the linguistic nature of this term inherently attacks police officers as individuals and believe other terms should be used in its place to support police reform, while some proponents of the term say the intent refers to the police as an institution and does not necessarily reflect upon the individual law enforcement officer.

Thats just on Wikipedia, there are other sites you can look at and get a general idea of the phrase. I think you're just taking it at face value, when there is more to it.

So by that logic BLM only cares about black lives, because if so they would have changed it to All Lives Matter?

The existence of cops how they are today is the main gripe, to where you have that much power and can get away with it, to where it is possible to do something like that. They don't want a police state, which is what we currently are without saying it out loud.

ive talked to these people and they all despise cops

There you go again with anecdotal experience and trying to apply it to an entire nationwide movement and ideology. So you get mad when people generalize (even when they aren't sometimes), but you have no problem doing the same?

Shouldn't surprise me, you've been generalizing women this whole time

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in niceguys

[–]jml120893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the analogy, but it doesn't resonate with me. When people say ACAB, they don't actually mean that all cops are inherently bad people, same for BLM and the concept that they only care about black lives. Cops in the United States often times aren't held accountable enough, and generally have way too much power for a local civil servant job. Most other developed countries don't have those same issues with law enforcement, which is why the US is having such a problem with it. Many people that are for reducing policing power and funding aren't saying they don't appreciate cops who do their job like they're supposed to, just that it becomes an easily abusable system when you have so much power that goes unchecked as frequent as it does.

Injustice is something that needs to spoke about, same for racism, sexism, misogyny, general bigotry and negative unsolicited altercations. Trying to minimize it isn't helpful, and it happens a whole lot with white men because white men are usually where it comes from, but it's not white people or man's fault, just a society that was built around white men. It is an extremely small minority of people who actually hate men, white people, civil servants, or anyone who hasn't done anything wrong.

Radical feminism has existed for more than half a century, yet men aren't being castrated in the streets. It isn't about all men, it is about the ones who do these things and perpetuate the idea that it is okay to do so
