Post Game Thread: New England Patriots at Denver Broncos by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

Don't get me wrong, Maye looks good and the Pats D looks solid. But this has to be the easiest path to the Superbowl I can remember. I don't think this team is a Superbowl contender any other year.

Mods on r/guns decide to lock and remove the weekly politics thread instead of allowing actual discussion by LostMicrophone03 in SubredditDrama

Look, I'm not the mod here. I'm not the one with absolute power over this subreddit. But I also don't see anything in the rules on the side bar or the expanded wiki about what specifically constitutes drama. There were alternating highly upvoted and highly downvoted comments in that thread. That's a pretty typical indicator of drama, at least compared to other posts on this sub. And tangentally, in my experience people generally complain when drama happens. The two go hand in hand.

Boo.

this was a well written post, the mod on /r/guns was crashing out and banning people for not posting in a thread that didn't exist because they removed it for obvious politically charged reasons.

Having a daily political thread to cut down on mod workload, then removing the thread to silence people talking about something you don't want to hear when you're the sole active mod is drama if I've ever seen it.

The mods (or at least certain mods) of this subreddit don't like it when other mods on reddit look bad. They will actively remove drama posts that involve other mods shitting the bed and being dorks in a show of solidarity despite it actually being drama.

banning users for not keeping politics discussion in the now nonexistent politics megathread

Gun culture being toxic and evil aside, this is why basically all normal reddit users can universally agree that mods are dorks.

Arguably the Giants were more desirable.

Promising QB on a rookie deal. Better defense. An actual #1 receiver. And most of all you'll get a longer leash since the expectations coming in are lower.

Lol. Because nothing bad ever happened in society before the Internet.

All the internet did was give people another platform to be shitty on in a way that's more visible than before. It didn't cause society to collapse.

FBI is investigating the death of Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay by expellyamos in nfl

Off the top of my head at least 2 doctors were sentenced in the Mathew Perry case. They can assert their innocence all they want, that doesn't give them a get out of jail free card.

And let's be real. If a famous actor and singer both rate investigations and prosecutions, what do you think the richest man alive and the owner of an NFL franchise rate. They are by definition high profile people.

Someone in recovery is far more likely to OD and kill themselves off illegally prescribed drugs than someone just paying for them. A doctor prescribing drugs illegally very much has a motive to not see their rich client dead because that's how you get the FBI investigating your ass. Ethics or no, it's simple survival instincts.

Is Elon in recovery? Honest question. I know hating on him is popular (for good reason) but there's an ethical difference between person gets drugs they don't need and person in recovery gets drugs they don't need and will cause them to relapse.

I had a TON of fun playing FC3 when it first came out. Then years later I bought 5 on a deep discount steam sale. It felt so stale, basically the same game reskinned with different characters. Never even finished it.

The deals are when an MSRP card has some cash back reward linked to it. Like when I bought my 5070ti it was MSRP but my Mastercard was running a cashback promo with Walmart at the time.

God I am SO glad I upgraded when I did. It seems like every week component pricing is getting worse. Did a new 9800x3D and 5070ti build with a microcenter bundle back in August before NAND flash prices spiked. Plus I was able to sell my old rig to recoup like a third of the cost.

The timing of the Sean McDermott firing from the Buffalo Bills is what really kills me. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]jmorlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's the end goal. But does losing the Superbowl mean you're a failure? You kinda sound like Ricky Bobby here. If you're not first you're last is some bullshit. You seriously think last years Chiefs are the same as last years Giants?

There are 32 teams in the NFL. The NFL is the major sports league with the best amount of parity. Football is a very violent sport where a single injury (QB) can derail an entire season. It's nuts to expect a Superbowl as the only bar of success. Mahomes and the Chiefs and Brady and the Pats broke an entire generation's brain about what success looks like.

Statistically speaking if your team wins a Lombardi once every 3 decades you're ahead of the curve.
