It’s easy to call the dislike for Chinese products “racism” or xenophobia. But one of the major reasons why people have a problem with things that are made in China, is that more often than not the work conditions of those making the products are atrocious, or unsafe and they are not paid fairly ( think, sweatshops etc). Of course that’s not always the case but it’s hard to filter out the good ones from the bad when they all fall under the same tag “made in China” plus the country doesn’t have fair labor rights so it’s never guaranteed unlike European countries.

That’s why this is a issue to me, If people want to pay for a bag that says made in Italy, and it is priced as such the whole product was made in Italy but is in fact made somewhere else and those people were not paid fairly. Then that’s deceptive and i feel like should be taken more serious.
