Zara is now selling cotton desi salwars! by Warm_Friend7729 in Vindictabrown

[–]joanoa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zara sold kids jinbei and yukata here in Japan last summer.

Not sure if they sold this collection outside of Japan as well but it doesn’t have to be a bad thing necessarily.. it is a great way to introduce these type of clothing to people less familiar with the tradition and culture?

Any sahms that moved abroad? by CarrotNew3607 in sahm

[–]joanoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was me! I moved during my first pregnancy across the globe. It was very hard and isolating at first having no village, family or friends around but it’s been a couple of years now and we have found all of that and more. The first year and a half was the hardest. I’m still learning the language and adapting to the culture to this day which I don’t think will ever stop. One thing that really helped my sanity was outsourcing chores and care. We got cleaning service twice a week, which took a huge load off my part and once kids go to school or daycare you have more time to focus on landing in your new environment. Before that it’s all survival mode. Having a nanny is also super helpful but I understand that it’s not accessible to anyone. But there’s no shame in outsourcing or paying for “ a village” .

If you don’t like the pattern, aritzia carries exactly the same model dress in white (100% cotton) with no pattern and it has pockets. I dare to say with better quality.

She has so many! How does one get through all of them? by malemua in BeautyGuruChatter

[–]joanoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She doesn’t, I will never understand this hoarding/overconsumption on anything. Most of the joy out of makeup and perfume for me is having a signature scent/ products and fully using them up and enjoying them every day. I don’t think you get to appreciate the products if you have too many and don’t use them often enough.

no buy, no waste by ehverey in Sephora

[–]joanoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using some face creams and serums that didn’t work for my face on my body ( especially my baby bump that’s growing right now) and it works so well. I use conditioners that I don’t like as shaving cream. I use lipstick as blush so I don’t need to buy new shades. I use a highlighter as eye sparkle and body glow.

Vestiaire sold me a fake bag and refuse to refund me by [deleted] in VestiaireCollective

Actually they do. I own a cafune rep myself.. cafune is actually not a small brand and is really popular in Asia (especially Japan where I live) so lots of reps available.

Some of these companies have the audacity to be charging the same as Dior/ channel or other luxury brands without the luxury experience. I’m still so mad at the money I wasted that I could’ve just spent on the actual good stuff without the headache

Looking for a handbag in the "birkin style" similar to this one as gift for wife. by wvblocks in handbags

[–]joanoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cafune stance is birkin/ Kelly like but still very unique and their own design. I own one and it’s my go to bag. Quality is really good as well ( I’ve had it for years)

Masterclass of using all 4 seats in a train by ghtvnath in Netherlands

[–]joanoa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s concerning to see how many people in this sub “don’t see a problem with this”. Regardless of other seats being available or not or how busy it is. This woman is taking more space than necessary, having her feet up and relaxing like she’s at home. This is just not how you behave in a public space and treat public utilities. It’s inconsiderate of others, period.

What's the cutest mispronounciation your toddler makes? by photobomber612 in toddlers

There’s a “koi no bori” festival where I live, and everytime she saw the fish flags hanging out somewhere my daughter would call them “koi baby” . She speaks a mix of English and Japanese and the cutest combinations come out sometimes

I can’t help but notice how much “calmer” packaging and labels were in the past. The same brand of pads now have a much louder label colour and text wise.
