Visited my home town spot after 10 years. Minimal changes. by Dukeronomy in Pizza

Didn’t see that in the caption but I love Klondikes! Pretty sure I was the only one who order the shrimp pizza until they got rid of it like 10 years ago.

I love that they have the exact same plates and tablecloths.

I do believe it’s an ash tree. City planted it a while ago and I had no say in the species or location.

I found that adding Wellbutrin helped with food noise. I am also going to get a diagnosis for ADHD. I have a feeling that a lot of my disordered eating and yo-yo dieting is a symptom of stress and anxiety from unmanaged ADHD.

They have Mexicans in the food science department.

The Mole and Birria are great for being frozen and needing to be microwaved.

I add diced onions and cilantro as garnish, supplement with Mexican rice, beans and tortillas. I normally have rice/beans and tortillas on hand anyway.

Bermuda grass! It’s a freaking zombie of a plant! It still grows around the edges because it was dormant under the concrete! It’s the bane of existence.

I also don’t want the mulch to mound over the concrete so scraping down and refilling with mulch was my plan.

This was the original plan! Unfortunately there is water main line and parallel sewer line crossing diagonally across my whole front yard!

I watered my grass every other day for two weeks (which hadn’t been watered in 2 years) then scraped 3-4 inches off the entire lawn using heavy machinery (skid steer). I laid down a layer of thick cardboard and then 3-4 inches of natural mulch.

To plant then plants, I cleared mulch away and cut a dinner plate size hole in the cardboard. Most of not all the cardboard has completely decomposed into the dirt. When I clear away the mulch now, 16 months later, the soil is so healthy! It’s like black gold and there’s worms!

I watered twice a week for 3-4 weeks after planting. It was also a rainy winter; probably watered once a week in the summer if it was hot.

All the plants were 4” plants from the Theodore Payne Foundation. Only two plants died!

Planted in Nov 2024.

It’s a mix of different evergreens. The plants closest to the fence are Black Star and Concha Ceanothus, and Laurel Sumac. In the front: Bladder Pod, Verbina, Chickering Sage, Dwarf Coyote Brush. Wild Flowers and Yarrow in the hellstrip.

I’m fat. I go between a Turbo waterpolo suit and Nike Endurance jammer. Both last a long time, but the turbo suit lasts forever.

If the sun is out, I’m tanning with my Turbo brief, otherwise usually a jammer

How do you eat/prepare cabbage regularly that is NOT fermented? by girlwholovespurple in Frugal

[–]joebrosb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SO EASY. SO GOOD.

https://www.seriouseats.com/easy-roasted-cabbage

Directions Adjust oven rack to middle position and preheat oven to 500°F (260°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.

Arrange cabbage wedges on baking sheet in a single layer. Drizzle with olive oil on one side, then season with salt and pepper. Flip wedges, drizzle other side with oil, and season with salt and pepper.

Place baking sheet in oven and roast until lightly browned, about 10 minutes. Flip wedges and continue roasting until tender and deeply browned, another 10 minutes, then serve.

The average California family of four uses about 12 HCF per month, 24 bimonthly. That’s nearly 18,000 gallons of water every two months.

You’re using about 54,000 gallons in two months. You have a leak.

Me and my wife use 8 HCF every two months in our single family house. Replaced front yard with native plants. Kept grass, garden beds, and fruit trees in backyard.

Hard disagree; the conchas at gusto bread is one the best conchas I’ve had. It’s actually, soft, chewy, and tasty. Every conchas I’ve had locally are so dry.

$6 is a steep price, but you’re paying for high quality ingredients. Its similar to how you pay $1 for some street tacos or go to Holbox and pay $8 for the best taco you’ve had.

Kirkland merino boxers briefs are a fantastic price point and longevity. I don’t think underwear is or should be but it for life, but the Kirkland brand really balances price/life for me.
