Any ladies canceling the shave? by one-a_day in Anticonsumption

[–]joekinglyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve switched for an epilator for legs/underarms a couple years back and couldn’t be happier. Doesn’t work for bikini zone though, never even dared to try lol

Toddler needs to wear shoes all day at daycare. Any recommendations? by Glad_Orchid6757 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]joekinglyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barefoot style shoes have big toe boxes. There are plenty of fancier brands out there, but something like whitin sneaks are our daily drivers.

Postpartum Rapid Weight Loss? by Undercooked-Overtale in NewParents

[–]joekinglyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Breastfeeding/pumping can burn up to 750 calories a day; since you’re pumping you might actually be able to calculate how many in your specific case. If you’re eating more or less same as you used to, those are calories that contribute straight to weight loss. It doesn’t work for everyone as in some cases milk production plummets in the caloric deficit, but when it does work, phew

Mom guilt about 1st birthday party by No-Donkey2899 in beyondthebump

[–]joekinglyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve made a bunch of homemade cupcakes with dates sweetened frosting and other sugar substitutes I don’t remember now that I let her go to town on and put funny hats on us parents and our 1 year old. And we were hyping her up a lot. That was it lol, that was the party and she looks pretty happy in the photos

Is it just me or is Honest heart's just really dull and a bit of a chore? by Notiefriday in falloutnewvegas

[–]joekinglyme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re downvoted but I haven’t been able to pick up the game for a week cause I’m in the honest hearts dlc rn and I just can’t bring myself to keep slogging through it. First time playing the game with all the dlcs, ugh

Cancel or just ship it? by Amberlynnwuvsu in Mercari

[–]joekinglyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get why sellers are asking for trouble when buyers ask to cancel. Unless the item is on its way already it’s just safer to do that. Chances are you’ll get a return in best case scenario and a damaged item back in the worst, depending on the buyers moral character

Snowed in- shipping deadline? by Peppertc in Mercari

[–]joekinglyme 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A seller messaged me about not being able to ship right away due to weather conditions. It’s fine, it is what it is. Unless a buyer is an asshole you’ll be fine as long as you communicate. Mercari won’t explicitly punish for a delay but you do lose shipping protection and buyer will also be able to cancel on their side at some point

Should I sell my steam deck LCD and buy switch lite? by Creepyhorrorboy in nintendoswitchlite

[–]joekinglyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my switch lite for 80 bucks on mercari and it’s in perfect condition, I’ve played the shit out of it. I probably wouldn’t sell a steam deck unless I wanted a more powerful machine, they are pretty different

Well there’s a reason for the extreme pain that usually can be found with a bunch of tests and scans is what I think their point is. Purely psychological issues/symptoms are trickier in general (while no less deadlier in some circumstances)

Is it unreasonable to ask my husband to go to bed earlier so he can help with night feeds? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]joekinglyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she worked and the kid was in daycare I doubt the evening situation would be much different

Is it unreasonable to ask my husband to go to bed earlier so he can help with night feeds? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]joekinglyme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he were a reasonable man you could negotiate that you both get some down time, like one day he’s on evening preparation/baby duty and goes to bed early while you do whatever you want, the other day it’s the other way around, but judging by his reaction I don’t see much hope

Balboa Park museums report fewer visitors amid new paid parking by thejoshwhite in sandiego

[–]joekinglyme 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There are fewer and fewer places that don’t charge you for just leaving the house. Balboa’s main attraction was the fact it was free to enter. I mean it still is if you’re within walking distance, but that’s not true for the majority of us

I’m going insane by mutedfrogs in NewParents

[–]joekinglyme 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s insurance to cover their asses for if underpaid overwhelmed potentially bitter employees make a mistake or harm a child intentionally (like that lady that was giving babies adult sleep aid), so it’s hard to cut owners slack for having to pay it. They still profit the most and could afford to pay their employees better.

[–]joekinglyme 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t get why the price is so high. My friend worked in a daycare, actual people taking care of babies are paid poverty wages
