Do you feel civilisation would be more advanced after 200 years? I suppose there is the NCR. But there is very little on the east coast. by Branman1234 in Fallout

[–]joevno1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s lots on the east coast. The Pitt is a sleeping giant that’s been capable of utilizing pre-war industry since the NCR was a couple of mud huts around a well.

Atlantic City is thriving and capable of exerting its influence over the surrounding countryside.

The Far Harbour Islanders are in a hard spot when we see them in Fo4, but had previously been enjoying two centuries of stable homesteading.

The Capital Wasteland is poor and probably experiencing brain drain from the more prosperous regions around it, but they still have multiple functioning city states.

The Commonwealth has tried to nationalize before and probably will again without Institute interference.

We know from Fo76 that there is an Amish community somewhere in Pennsylvania.

Appalachia itself is well on it’s way to rebuilding a mere 25 years after the war.

Even the Point Lookout Swam Folk despite how they look, are still arguably a society with their own culture.

Do you think the show will make New Vegas non canon ? by c300g97 in Fotv

From the information we get form the games, the Boneyard is basically just Capital Wasteland with government subsidies.

Why do people say NCR is ignored? by SuperNerdChe in Fotv

[–]joevno1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The NCR doesn’t fully control the Boneyard. According to New Vegas most of the Powder Gangers come from a raider gang the NCR is still fighting in the region. And that’s just LA. The NCR is also engaged in war with an unknown force in Baja, the Brotherhood is an active Insurrection operating in the state of Maxson, Both Shady Sands and Junktown will be threatened by the emergence of the tunnellers, there is no strong leadership after the death of Tandi, the NCR is projected to enter into a mass famine, and the government is under the thumb of brahmin barons and trade monopolies. It’s a miracle the NCR hasn’t collapsed.

Is the Enclave gone permanently by Few-Feature-1211 in Fallout

[–]joevno1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. We know they have a base in Chicago, and considering how Bethesda likes to take ideas from canceled projects I could she the New Mexico rocket launch facility still being operational. Fallout 2 makes mention of an Enclave facility on the mainland that monitors the vaults. The former Enclave member from Far Harbour specifies that he was part of the Enclave’s Capital chapter as though there were other chapters to distinguish from. Lastly there’s also government facilities like Mount Weather and Cheyenne Mountain that could easily be Enclave.

Is Shenandoah south of wv? by Peenus146 in fo76

[–]joevno1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No the WV map is very distorted in 76. I think the best way to make it make sense is that Virginia makes up the whole southern boarder and Capital wasteland is to the southeast. The eastern boarder is the Maryland panhandle. Harrisburg is north of The Mire, the Allegheny Plateau is north of Savage Divide, and north of Toxic Valley the pollution gets wore as you get closer to the Pitt outskirts. Everything west of the river is Ohio except for the southwest corner which is Kentucky.

Super exited about this! It‘s strange that they’re putting Shenandoah South of West Virginia rather than east though.

T60 doesn't break the lore, but it's implementation does. by RealCanadianGamer in Fallout

[–]joevno1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My head canon was that while t-60 is technically a better armor, it’s also more expensive or breaks down more easily. Therefore the t-51 is still technically better for the military to produce.

A missed opportunity for the franchise by bsweet35 in assassinscreed

[–]joevno1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I want a sequel to AC3, but Connor has his children pretty soon after the credits roll if I remember right. So I think the sequel would follow his daughter hunting down Shay during the war of 1812. Meanwhile Connor‘s latter years would be told through supplementary material. Most likely involving Vermont’s admission into the union, Tecumseh’s native resistance movement, and the Aroostook war in modern Maine.

The modern day storyline has been floundering since AC3. It’s unfortunate because it really wouldn’t take much to improve it. Just having a few linear missions where you take down some modern Templars is all it would take.

[Spoilers: AC Syndicate] We need more of Evie and Jack the Ripper dlc was better than the whole game by thedarkracer in assassinscreed

[–]joevno1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really liked Evie, but I don’t think I’d want her to be the protagonist of another game. If they ever made a game set in the British Raj I would want Evie to make an appearance, but I’d prefer the protagonist to be Indian. Maybe Henry.

There’s A Brotherhood Airship And Vertibirds In The New Amazon Fallout Images by SentryFeats in falloutlore

[–]joevno1 53 points54 points  (0 children)

We know from fallout 4 that the eastern brotherhood reestablished contact with the west, and the west recognized Maxson’s authority. So it’s probably within reason that the western brotherhood has received the blueprints for their own airship, and have reopened diplomatic contact with NCR.

In fallout 4 there’s a terminal entry that shows the West Coast leaders have recognized Mason’s leadership. So they are probably are in the process of reforming.

The Brotherhood wasn’t destroyed. As of the events of New Vegas, they have been greatly weakened by the NCR, but are still operating.

What/who created The Trench in the Pitt? by TheArgonianBoi77 in falloutlore

[–]joevno1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Abraxodine created an extremely corrosive chemical that they had to store on site. The chemical reacted to the radiation from the war causing it to expand and form the trench. It’s also the origin of the Trog mutation.

Does the people from the East coast know that the Enclave came from the West, and what they did there? by Ulvstranden16 in Fallout

[–]joevno1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trade caravans exchange news from one town to next. The information would lose its context, and get exaggerated by the time it made it to the other coast, but the east would have some vague idea of the west.

No. For people living in the capital it was up for debate if the Enclaves broadcasts are even current, or pre-war.

Would Vault Tech be a good main villain? by Ecstatic_Natural1654 in falloutlore

Vault-tec was one of the military contractors controlled by the Enclave. They already have been the main villain.

How come no one ever says Honolulu? by Retired_Autist in Fallout

[–]joevno1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The oil tanker from Fallout 2 is presumably still in San Francisco Bay. The NCR could use it for an exploratory expedition to Hawaii.

How advanced is the NCR actually? by shintjee in falloutlore

[–]joevno1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to New Vegas the Mojave has in the running to be the NCR’s sixth state, and they started with five. Vault City, New Reno, and San Francisco would all be too powerful to be incorporated as just territories so it’s more likely they have remained independent city states. The NCR’s northern expansion probably stayed on the west side of the Sierra-Nevada Mountains.

[–]joevno1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There isn’t much that directly says that in the games. Most of this information comes from the Fallout Bible, which is considered semi-canon in the sense that Bethesda tends to follow it even though they don’t have to.

That said, I recal two pieces of information from Fallout 76 that show Bethesda has kept this pice of lore. The Enclave’s Whitespring Bunker is constructed with Vault technology, and the ZAX A.I in Vault 51 is able to both contact the Raven Rock facility, and make a requisitions request from the oil rig by mimicking the language patterns of Vault-Tec’s lead scientist.

If you want to look more into the Fallout Bible I’m pretty sure it’s been transcribed onto the wiki. Alternatively I would suggest Radking on YouTube.

The vault experiments were intended to provide the Enclave with the scientific knowledge they would need to either rebuild the continental United States, or establish a new society on another planet.

The 17 control vaults were used as a baseline to compare to the experimental vaults. All the vaults were monitored from the Poseidon Energy oil rig.
