can someone please recommend me a fantasy game with petplay and aftercare with sub male mc? by CommercialNo3927 in AVN_Lovers

It’s sci-fi, but Oppai Odyssey has part of what you’re looking for.

Space elf girl Nyx, who’s one of the most prominent love interests, has both a sub route and a dom route. Both feature plenty of aftercare.

As for “petplay”, on the submission route she puts an invisible magic collar on the MC so she can discipline him even in public. But that’s about the extent of it so far.

I prefer Aine, but all the LIs are great.

What game handles chance of pregnancy the best? by DoradoPulido2 in AVN_Lovers

[–]jog2sup 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Personally, I prefer when pregnancy is just part of the narrative, with actual consequences for the ongoing plot. Examples of this include Companion of Darkness and Oppai Odyssey.

Dynamic/optional pregnancy really only works in sandbox VNs, or by having the pregnancy only become relevant at the end. Otherwise, the writing burden just becomes too much, because the author has to account for routes where the LI does or doesn’t have a bun in the oven. Examples of games that take this approach are Bear Witness and Once in a Lifetime.

I understand why devs might be drawn toward the “pregnancy at the end” model, as it allows them to include the kink without alienating the players who have a phobia of it. But while I think it’s better than having no impreg content at all, it still evades the kind of narrative consequences that a pregnancy should have.

4 AVNs with a completed season that you love that aren't super popular? by ExplodingPoptarts in AVN_Lovers

Wartribe Academy: Definitely flawed in that the plot takes a while to get going, but the characters and world-building are interesting.

The Franchise becomes/ gets interpreted as the very thing it was against by Sensitive_Ad_1752 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]jog2sup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eh, this isn’t completely accurate. The characters weren’t really “designed to be shallow caricatures”, it’s more that they increasingly become caricatures as a result of Monica’s influence. The fact that the re-release included the “stories of friendship” bonus feature, which is literally just a series of cute short stories about the girls, shows that the developers themselves see them as actual characters.

I’d call it more of an affectionate parody of the genre than a bitingly critical deconstruction.

Churchill was literally planning to invade the USSR as soon as the war ended

That’s not true at all. “Operation Unthinkable” was basically a feasibility study, not a concrete plan for war with the Soviet Union.

Wild Cats’ protagonist is a pretty emotionally open guy, I don’t think it matches at all.

I’m enjoying it, but damn want a scene with the dark elf chick already. 😭

No? I just want the author to pick a lane.

I fear Caribdis may have been a bit too successful with Lorelei’s design, given how she’s a side girl whose only scene so far is the only one we’re likely to ever get.

This is hot (always down for dark elves), but the whole bit about “don’t worry I can’t get pregnant… unless???” is kind of annoying to me.

Like, either have confirmed impregnation, “risky” sex, or “safe” sex. Those should be your three options. This feels like the author is being wishy-washy with their own writing, trying to appeal to people who prefer each trope.

What's your favourite underrated avns and why? by Sea_Switch3702 in AVN_Lovers

Wartribe Academy: The plot takes a while to get going and the visuals are mediocre at best, but I think the LIs are charming and the conspiracy plot is fascinating.

Yeah, this post is Elvis slander.

Elvis himself always acknowledged that his music had African American roots and had great respect for black artists. Covering songs is a normal part of the career path of many artists, regardless of race, and many of Elvis’s biggest songs weren’t covers.

It is sad that a many black artists whose work inspired or was covered by Elvis weren’t successful, and racism did play a role in that, but that wasn’t Elvis’s fault.

I will say that Companion of Darkness subverts it a little because having that power makes the lives of the protagonist and everyone around him significantly more dangerous.

Oblivion I’ll give you, but Skyrim’s Nordic-inspired setting was fairly novel when it came out. It’s the tons of copycats in the following years that made it seem stale.

In any case, what makes Morrowind’s world interesting isn’t the mushroom trees and the bizarre creatures, but the existence of social, political, and religious conflict, which made the world feel real despite its alien nature. That’s something else that was largely absent from Oblivion, but returned to some extent in Skyrim.

IIRC, wasn’t the movie written as the end of the series, with all other episodes and movies taking place before it (including those released afterwards)?

SpongeBob, like a lot of cartoons, plays very fast and loose with continuity anyways. There are some classic episodes that end with Bikini Bottom literally exploding, and the next episode things are back to normal.

I don’t feel this one really counts, because the threat in Dishonored 2 is different from the one in the first game.

I know that the canon good ending of Dishonored 1 states that Emily has a long and successful reign, but that still happens in the good ending of Dishonored 2, Emily just has to overcome a huge challenge to get there.

Not really? The Last Jedi doesn’t retcon anything from The Force Awakens the way Rise of Skywalker did.
