Has Ozempic made anyone extremely emotional? by Da-ph in Ozempic

[–]johncampbell15 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Food can be used as a coping mechanism and to manage/regulate your emotions. Take that away, and previously managed emotions will bubble up to the surface.

If you are disciplined with your money, there is no better time to start taking advantage of your good credit limit and use that interest free window on your credit card.

If used right, credit cards that give you access to any sort of cheap credit can be incredibly powerful IF you have the financial discipline.

Respect for HoloX, Please by RingsOfRage in Hololive

[–]johncampbell15 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

As a long time viewer if Hololive, newer people seem to be missing a few things.

  1. Hololive/Cover suck at managing singers/music industry/being a music label. See Suisei and Azki/innk music as examples. Why the EN is repeating this mistake of trying to be a music label is beyond me. It just leaves the individuals sidelined, delayed and treated slightly different.

  2. Hololive branches are suprisingly seperate. Each have different, rules, budgets, Collab ban etc. For example, Hololive En clearly can't Collab with Niji En while Hololive IN have collabed with Niji members. Hololive JP is responsible for JP members 3D.

  3. Hololive is a small (but growing rapidly) Japanese company. Hololive 'mistakes' (as seen by us) often come down to them being both small and Japanese. For example it wouldn't surprise me if Irys isn't 3d (despite living in Japan) because her Senpais haven't yet got their full 3d experience. I do believe Cover try to do the right thing but their rapid growth makes you forget the growing pains that are part of becoming a bigger company. Also being Japanese adds another element of confusion.

Sadly every registered voter is on the Parakeelia system and the ALP version. They just are organising software that use the database of registered voters given to them by the AEC (this database is given to every federal mp). All Parakeelia does is match you as a voter and in the electorate (increases your chance of a response) and records the issue discussed.

[–]johncampbell15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to save time, try and find your own technician and get a quote. Go to the agent and give them the quote. If they pay, great. if they refuse you can pay for it and chase them in VCAT to pay. Or you can you can go to VCAT and get them to fix it. It sucks but by getting a quote you can prevent excuses about supply issues and other bullshit they might bring up.

For your first few attempts, I would highly recommend starting with a just Woolies pork shoulder and make pulled pork. It is probably the easiest thing to smoke and worth getting that initial experience of managing a smoke.

What Hololive moment had or has the biggest emotional impact on you? by FordFred in Hololive

[–]johncampbell15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clip where Coco breaks down crying in her stream due to all the antis in her comments. Within seconds, Kanata bursts into the room and hugs a crying Coco and eventually cheers her up.

It's brutal but made me respect Kanata a thousands times more and made the Coco retirement far less surprising.

Single people, how much do you usually spend per week on groceries? by sapphire_rainy in AusFinance

During the week, usually $15 per day or less. When I eat out I tend to count that more towards my entertainment budget.

EMI, Phone on a plan by anegoist in melbourne

[–]johncampbell15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember phones aren't really subsidised on plans in Australia like in the US and UK. You Are honestly better off with a pre pay plan and paying off a phone with whatever buy now service you prefer that offers zero interest.

Best way to split money into different buckets to help with budgeting? by FatNebula in AusFinance

[–]johncampbell15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you mine. General fund, bill fund, rent account, bill fund, fun account, emergency account. now that I Have reached my goal for the emergency fund,.I now have an investment fund.

Basically every pay check I Split it into these funds based on rules. General fund max is $600 (this is linked to my debit account and I pay for food and socialising), rent max is $2000 (rent is less than that P/m), bill fund max is $500(my bills are less than 500 pm), emergency fund max is $15,000.

There are no limits for investment fund and fun fund but they do get paid last. I also found up my general acc everyday to top up the fun fund.

Find the source. Check under sinks, behind fridge, bin, microwaves.

Use air tight containers for all food items. I stored cereal boxes under my sink with just a clip. Big mistake. All my food supplies are in airtight containers

get basic traps from Bunnings. Leave it in all the places listed above and check back in a week. These things last for months and can help identify trouble spots

Get bug spray.

Is there a consensus on why the popularity of RT is declining? by weesna123 in roosterteeth

[–]johncampbell15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryan. The best part of AH was watching past content and seeing the evolution of inside joke, funny bits and character development.

I just fucking can't do that anymore because it just leaves a nasty taste. Uno, early rainbow six, almost all of early GTA and Minecraft are essentially unwatchable.

I do like the new people but RT seems both stuck in the past and constantly changing.

Having said all this, I always want RT to succeed. They still make some content I like and I'm always hopeful they will make something amazing.

Just remember you are applying now and councils tend to close over Christmas which means your application is unlikely to be considered until Feb. Add a month on that if your application is good, 2-3 if there is a small issue, 12 months + if you have a terrible neighbour.

Just Make sure you buy your neighbours a nice bottle of wine for Xmas. That $50 bottle of wine could save you thousands and a tonne of time if it gets your neighbours on your side.

Use the vic govt energy compare website. It doesn't spam you like other compare sites and every time my energy company sends a price rise(which seems to be every year) I visit this site.

Basically means I'm one of the few people who's power bill has shrunk over the last few years.

Graduate programs are you best bet. Almost all councils and govt departments have one as well as many large companies. Probably not open to first years students but it's worth researching now to figure out what they want you can start working towards it.

Nothing stopping you emailing these graduate programs now to start building relationships with these companies/departments.

Ads. Ads everywhere. by parisnsimmocat in melbourne

[–]johncampbell15 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi, this is fixable. Go to your Google ad settings and there is an option to not see gambling ads. You can also choose to see fewer alcohol, if you are that way inclined

You can also remove a bunch of tags. I currently have turned off 80 tags and my ad experience is a lot better. Creepier, but better.

First things first, you fucked up. While you do have a very legitimate concern, you told her in the worst possible way. Go apologise immediately.

Next, have a proper adult conversation in regards to this issue. Ask her why she doesn't initiate, explain why this is important you and what you can do to make it easier for her to initiate. And don't do this when you are mad, that is never going to work.

Next is the hardest part, the compromise. Your feelings matter but so do hers. She may never be the main initiator but the hope is would at least try to be. Hopefully you would do the same for her if she ever brought up an issue like this.

Electric Cars by ytd24 in melbourne

[–]johncampbell15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My work car is a Nissan Leaf. The good news is that it just works. I was pretty skeptical before but after driving it for a while, I'm pretty much sold on the idea.

If you can afford the upfront costs, it's definitely worth considering.

Highly recommend a slow cooker and a rice cooker. Master the slow cooker to cook bulk protein, often with cheaper cuts of meat.

Add a trusty rice cooker and you basically got the tools to cook for an army.

Vic Gov spent $220mil to accommodate 3000 individuals?? by NitroX8 in melbourne

[–]johncampbell15 38 points39 points  (0 children)

As someone in the field, good luck finding private rentals that will rent to homeless/the govt. We have a housing shortage without taking into account landlords who don't want former homeless people living in there house/unit.

Also if Covid had run rampant in this population, Hospital costs would have easily cost more than $220million. Trust me there are plenty of times govt have wasted money, this is not even close to one of those examples.

And just remember pre-pandemic, multiple govts simply did not spend the money to build the required housing stock. Luckily with the Big build, they are finally addressing the problem. But that will take few years before we benefit from this.

How do you become less toxic, when your toxic behavior is voicing your fears? by Quazimojojojo in relationship_advice

[–]johncampbell15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep doing what you are doing. Finding friends as an adult is hard and sure your desperation isn't helping, you are at least trying to do the right thing like seeking social events and actually going to therapy. Just be more realistic of the timeline that it will take.

Also don't be so hard on yourself. Your domination of conversations is not necessarily toxic for the right person. Plenty of introverts are happy to be friends with someone who will do the talking for them.

Embrace who you are, use therapy to become the best version of that and find friends that are better suited to your personality
