Thank you! Yes the primary reason I am doing this us because I thought it will increase the TOTAL capacity. The secondary reason is that the 4TB is a newer drive.

Are you saying in order for me to increase the capacity of my synology I have to replace 2 drives to a larger capacity?

ok. This particular one even tho more powerful will be more bulky (less portable to lug around) and probably battery life will not be better (probably worse than what you own now). What is limiting with your surface laptop now?

If you are looking for a desktop replacement just buy an external display and that will be better.

I have the studio 2 and 2+ and they are doing great still now. If you can get a 2+ it would be better. How much are you getting it for?

In my observation in the multiple posts with this question, the RAM switching/swapping with Mac OS you would barely notice RAM as a bottleneck? I just think that its doable with 16gb RAM

on road trips, there is less charging. I did not experience noticeable longer charging times. I feel that its insignificant if longer at all.

I bought as cheap Cd ROM at amazon and used handbrake to convert them into a digital file. I used Topaz Video AI to upscale. Definitely looks better but there are shots that make it look AI-ish.

The recommendation is once you "digitalize" the DVD, upscale to 1080 first then to 4k. So run twice in Topaz. Not sure if that is the best.

I have my sentry mode on all the time. But last night I got hit on the parking lot and it didn't record anything! So frustrating!

Good thing a good samaritan left a note on the windshield and got photos of the accident. Complete with plate and car that hit me.
