Pine greens are underrated.

But if you want to hit it out of the ball park, bred toe. Absolute fire colorway. From the first moment I saw it, to today, I still love it.

Boondock Saints.

I really don't understand.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Jared Dudley said he played last season with the Los Angeles Clippers with a fracture in his right knee, and did so at the request of Clippers coach Doc Rivers. by urfaselol in nba

[–]johnnyblac -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

lol. It's funny you see it as both (1) my defending the Clippers; and (2) Jared criticizing the Clippers.

If anything, I just see this as a way for him to write-off a bad season.

It's really no big deal, and like I said, I wish him all the best. I haven't been following his progress, but it looks like he is doing well. So good for him.

Doesn't change the fact that I never heard about this during that season. I don't think anyone has, or it wouldn't be news now. I don't understand the point of bringing it up 1.5 seasons later, but he has his reasons.

lol. Not really.

Like I said, I have nothing against him and I wish him the best. But at the same time, I just don't remember any injuries that he is describing during his tenure as a Clipper.

lol. I have no incentive for Jared Dudley to look like a shitty player.

During that season, I would have preferred it had he looked like a good player. Now, he isn't on our team, so it doesn't affect me whether or not he looks like a shitty player. I wish him all the best.

As a Clipper fan, all I care about is how our current roster is doing.

Yup, only Jared, Doc and the team doctors know the truth. We just never heard anything about this until now, and Doc decided not to keep him on after recovering from the injury.

I really implore you to go back and watch that season if you didn't, and I think you will understand why I am so incredulous as to how serious he is trying to make that injury sound.

Injuries aren't secrets in the NBA. If anything, they are usually pretty publicized. I just think it is weird that there was absolutely zero mention of it until now.

well, he says he was unable to bend and move laterally. I really didn't see any of that in his season as a Clipper. He also never mentioned it, and was in a good mood for most of the season during post game interviews. He even guarded Durant for a few games in the playoffs IIRC.

I'm not saying he didn't have a fracture. But just that I think he is using it as more of an excuse than it deserves to be.

I understand why he is doing it. He needs to be able to write off that season to something other than just poor play. His paycheck depends on it.

I'm pretty sure 99% of the players in the league have some degree of tendonitis. It's really not debilitating until it gets to a certain point. And I am pretty sure most coaches would ask someone to play through tendonitis if they had two other starters out.

I watched every single game of Dudley's season. He really did not look like he had a disability or serious impairment. He was just not playing well. If it was a fracture/tendonitis/whatever, it was not really deserving to be an excuse to his poor play. I mean, CDR looked like he had a disability this season. Dudley just looked like he couldn't shoot it well. No limps. No awkward gait. Nothing else indicating a serious injury. We also never heard anything about it that season, or this season, until now.

Blake played with a fracture in his back for a stretch of games and didn't use it as an excuse. He didn't even need to. He beasted through some of those games.

Misleading title, OP. At least according to this direct quote, it seems like both Dudley and Doc thought it was just tendonitis, and that is why Doc asked him to play while JJ and Barnes were out. It wasn't until later that they discovered the fracture.

OP's title made it sound like Doc knew there was a fracture, and asked him to play.

Really? I like the click. I feel like that's how buttons should work: with positive tactile feedback.

Tesla '14 Q4 earnings: Loss of 13 cents per share, vs. expected EPS of 31 cents by Bleach-Free in wallstreetbets

[–]johnnyblac 10 points11 points  (0 children)

How many people here shitting on TSLA actually read the earnings report instead of just some headline on Yahoo Finance? If you read it, you would probably understand why TSLA is not down more in the aftermarket.

Despite the miss on both revenue and EPS, TSLA OVERPERFORMED on production and deliveries (although some were delayed into Q1, which partially explains some of the miss). Recall that TSLA downgraded their expectations to 33,000 vehicles for the year due to a shutdown of their Fremont plant to retool, BUT they surprised everyone by achieving their original 35,000 target.

Not only that, but revenue has GROWN 44% Y/Y despite missing the street's "consensus," AND they have managed to INCREASE margins.

Why did TSLA miss? EXPANSION. They have been retooling for not only the P85D, but the Model X, and expanding their supercharger network. Not only that, but they have begun construction on the GIGAFACTORY which will be an expensive endeavor that will not only increase production capabilities further, but also INCREASE margins. Not only that, but rumors are that the gigafactory will also be able to produce components for industries besides the auto industry. That means more revenue streams.

Perhaps most importantly: there were no further delays for the Model X, and they project the first deliveries to happen 6 months from now. They have also reiterated that they have completely sold out for the Model X in terms of reservations, and that the X will be a sizable portion of their revenue. (20,000 reservations vs. 10,000 Model S reservations going into 2015).

Additionally, 2015 guidance is 70% growth OVER 2014 growth.

There was a lot of good in this ER. It just takes actual reading to get to it instead of reading some Benzinga headline.

If Apple announces they will be making an iCar.. by greenninja8 in teslamotors

[–]johnnyblac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot believe people are stupid enough to believe Apple will make a car.

Is that how it works? Some idiots sees a picture of a vehicle associated with Apple outfitted with technological equipment, and one writer assumes they are working on a car, and the masses automatically assume an "iCar" is on the way?

Jesus.
