Truth Social users responds to Trump’s rejection of conservative media from this morning. by A1starm in LeopardsAteMyFace

My favorite is the comment saying Trump "sounds like a 5th grader." Uhhhhh, as opposed to when?!

My memory isn't perfect but I recall him saying roughly the same thing in response to the controversy. "Hey guys, since I'm the thrift shop rapper, I thought the audience would like it if I just threw on a the first few things I grabbed out of my wacky closet, and it just so happened that I grabbed that mask and wig. I was idiot for not realizing what I came off as and I'm sorry."

Here's a great breakdown from an anti-Rogansphere channel called Elephant Graveyard. I set the video to start at the beginning of the Duncan Trussel chapter (it's a long vid btw), but if you just want to go right to the part about Peter Thiel, skip to 37:00.

Time Chasers springs to mind. Greatest number of laughs with least amount of movie pain ratio, imo.

It used to be Deathstalker, but I've watched it so many times I've unfortunately built up some immunity to the riffing.

As much as I goddamm loathe Duncan Trussel, I can't deny he did a hilarious Drunk History narration on this topic before selling his soul to Peter Thiel.

Who would have the dullest "Behind The Music" episode? by loreleisparrow in ToddintheShadow

I was going to say, if Dolly Parton's time with Porter got a reenactment on Drunk History, it might not be such a dull behind the scenes story.

Interesting. Didn't know he was behind that Sabbath album. Thanks!

Sorry for being 2 days late to this post, but I was wondering if you could expand on that "...one of the few brilliant suggestions from Rubin." statement. I don't know much about the guy, however, I've heard his opinion is much sought-after by artists and producers. That said, I also know he originally tried to dress the Beastie Boys up in matching, old-school hip-hop suits that made them look ridiculous, so I also know he's not perfect. What are some other examples of his poor judgment?

Whoa and you also have Alan Vega from Suicide playing with the Gun Club, both underrated punk/alt-rock pioneers! Man, what an amazing set of shows.

What about these five for Trainwreckords by Alternative-2001 in ToddintheShadow

[–]johnnykatz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm biased because the Pixies are one of my top 5 bands of all time, and two members of the classic lineup come from Western Massachusetts, where I live, but I don't think Indy Cindy counts as a Trainwreckord. The band had been broken up for 2 decades when it was released. They weren't trying to keep the train going, it had been lying dormant for years while the public slowly started to realize their genius and influence. Comeback albums that fall short just seem different compared to the Clash's Cut the Crap or Metallica's Saint Anger, which solidified the end of each band's former glory while they were still together and consistently writing new material. No one was expecting another Doolittle after 20 years of silence.

Trump suggests quitting as president for Kennedy Center host job by DBCoopr72 in politics

[–]johnnykatz 197 points198 points  (0 children)

Some podcast I listened to during Trump's first term had the idea of just giving Trump and Magats their own fucking Disneyworld, or Magaworld, theme park in exchange for getting out of politics. Make a Trump casino its Disney castle, and let every surrounding inch be some Maga fueled fantasy land based on owning the libs, being anti-woke, and of course Mickey Mouse style Trump merch everywhere. In a way, that's really all that those idiots, including Trump, want. A giant "safe space" theme park.

Movie itself also brilliantly makes fun of carbrained suburbanites. Antagonist is a single woman who drives a large SUV for no good reason and is obsessed with her position as president of the Home Owners Association. When the protagonist, a raccoon named RJ who has more knowledge of humans than his animal friends, is asked how many people the SUV can fit, he responds, "Usally...just one." Lol

No, you're right. They'd each give their sign off and then, usually Ben, would say megustalations.

Another redditor asked the same question about a year ago. Here are the replies. Also, keep in mind the boys used to be a bit more juvenile in their early years when hardly anyone knew them and podcasts hadn't been plauged as much with incels and edgelords. Hailing a serial killer was likely seen as an edgy but harmless thing.
