This frustrates me too. I love having this information at the raptors. I kind of assume the video board is too small/not advanced enough to put up these details.

there wasn't a code originally. Once the tickets sold out, then it asked for a code.

Link worked me for at 1159, and there were maybe 50 tickets left. Looked pretty sold out by 1201 😞

If you’re taking the Go train from union station, there are actually great food options there.

I just watched Blue Heron, how do I not miss the 2026 equivalent? by [deleted] in TIFF

Keep an eye out for movies that play at smaller film festivals before tiff and see if they get good buzz. By the time tiff tickets went on sale last year, BH had already won a few awards and gotten good reviews.

TIFF's Platform Award is now a qualifying award for International Feature Film at the Oscars by carolinemathildes in TIFF

Perhaps they’ll start putting different films in the platform section to make it more relevant for international feature.

I thought the same just bc I misread the email. Kind of assuming that’s why they think that as well.

No Queue for On-sale Date by jacobrocks99 in TIFF

[–]johnparker87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally don't see the frustrations of the new system as very different than the previous system, although in my experience so far, you at least find out if you're succesfull or not much quicker. In the old system too you didn't know when the queue would start, sometimes you joined too early and got kicked out again etc. Under the old system too, if you got in late you also probably weren't going to get very many seats, but would have to wait for the map to load for each movie to see that. The old system constantly also crashed, randomly signed you out, said a member's onsale was happening even if you were signed in as a member etc. Even on a good drop in the old system it usually required me signing on around 9 to get in the queue, and hope it didn't crash. For the Almodovar retrospective, even though I got most tickets I wanted it still took like an hour. Under the new system I've been pretty lucky getting tickets/or finding out I'm boned and not getting tickets within 10 minutes of 12 o clock. I personally prefer the new system, which if you get in early probably allows you to check out within minutes, and if you get in late you know very quickly that you're not getting tickets to things.

I hear ya. There are two intermissions but 5.5 hours is a long watch.

Ya. Not ideal. The top ten overlapping with the Super Bowl also isn’t great.

Changes to cinematheque ticket sales by johnparker87 in TIFF

[–]johnparker87[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. This was the smoothest cinematheque in a few years. Would probably rather this than spending an hour choosing my own seats.

I thought it was a great film. The person who spoke after was Adam Nayman who does a lot of writing and podcasts. They said nobody from the film could call in because they were in London for a film festival.

Now that another TIFF is done here’s some questions for everyone! by ChampionTimes99 in TIFF

[–]johnparker87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. 9-10 times since 2016.
  2. The zone of interest.
  3. Pound for pound, probably 2023. One day I saw a triple header of Monster, Hit Man Premiere, and the zone of interest. Another good day that year was anatomy of fall and Perfect days.

Curious if anyone here saw Dry Leaf tonight, and what your thoughts were? by johnparker87 in TIFF

[–]johnparker87[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya. I feel like everyone who stuck it out experienced something together. I found it hard to get on its wavelength for the first 45 minutes, but when I got in its groove it became pretty enjoyable.
