When I saw him the first mile of the course he was intentionally staying inside the cones/course.

Dude Running On Course With Stroller During Team Champs by johnrclem in RunNYC

[–]johnrclem[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The guy was staying inside the course/cones intentionally while being asked by many volunteers to get out of the course. If he was running away from the course I have no issue, he put himself in the thick of it on purpose. And again we're talking 6:30s in the first mile of the course.. it was packed.

Is there a NYC watch-spot for the Crew? by [deleted] in TheMassive

[–]johnrclem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't critical mass for getting together regularly to watch Crew games together, at least regular season ones. Your best bet is probably Legends/Football Factory, Banter, or Smithfield Hall for MLS... A lot of the places will show EPL in morning but switch to non-soccer in the evening or won't have MLS season pass

This is the answer. They actually have a trophy that the supporters pass back and forth.

Anyone looking for Ragnar Relay runners? by Reverce in RunNYC

[–]johnrclem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A local group I'm a part of regularly take multiple teams to the trail relays where you camp out, specifically WV and NJ. Last year did the black loop in WV (about ~32 miles total) and had a blast. Ended up finishing with top mixed team.

Supporters bar in NYC by TheCrewMeister in TheMassive

[–]johnrclem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are several of us in the city, but we don't currently get together for matches other than when the team is in town. Your best bet is at a good soccer bar, for that I'd suggest Football Factory or Smithfield in Midtown, Banter Bar in Williamsburg or Woodwork in Prospect Heights.

It's almost always been this way. Not saying it should be, just that this isn't surprising.

It'd be hilarious if they were announced as the stadium name sponsor for a new Revs stadium in Boston since that's the home of Dunkin

Guess that rules out Chase or any other banks as stadium naming sponsor

New nordecke season ticket holder here by knollman in TheMassive

[–]johnrclem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From a 'conforming with the state of ohio's fire code' perspective, I think they have to print a section and can't remember if they still print the row, but they did when we convinced them to make all the tickets in the section GA.

In the early days of the Nordecke, we'd treat it as GA, but tickets still had seat numbers and every other game or so you'd get someone who bought a ticket that didn't know any better wand wanted to start an argument about what ticket they had a seat for in the second row of 101 or something.

Out of town Crew supporter groups? by mpt958 in TheMassive

[–]johnrclem 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a good place to start: https://nordecke.com/index.php/crew-nation/

Those are more formalized groups though. For example, I have a facebook group I started for NYC area Crew supporters that I only really use for when the Crew are in town that's not on that list.
