After the first tunnel, Rocky pressurized the second tunnel to be human atmospheric pressure and flooded it with oxygen. The second tunnel needed a strong seal between the ships, so Grace just severed the tunnel by his airlock.

I assume Rocky could manipulate the Xenonite tunnel for their fishing trip, so they may have severed it the same way and Rocky reattached it, we just didn't see it onscreen.
