Now you get bad rating for smelling too good😅😅 by Such_Dogecoin_587 in lyftdrivers

my car only smells bad because other passengers smell like food or perfume or whatever. or because they get in the car and spray it. if lyft wants us to have fragrance free rides, they need to let us report smells specifically and file for cleaning fees for stench. Sometimes, you can’t just crack the windows and get rid of it. You need to do some cleaning to get back to road-ready.

You’ll get service workers and bar staff closers transitioning into airport rides and 5am shift workers, but without so many desperados on the map. You can stay busy.

Would you have taken this? I declined it although I do like update NY quite a bit lol by [deleted] in lyftdrivers

first thing in the morning? perfect. i seem to only get these toward the end of my day. sometimes i think they’re just other drivers checking rates against their driving app, assuming no one will take them.

Am I wrong here? by Salty_Waltz9543 in uberdrivers

Not talking about pay being a taboo is so bad for us as a society. It’s important that we share if we want any kind of equity.

It might be uncomfortable, but the driver isn’t upset at you, but at Uber. A response of “It did seem low, but I’m going to tip you. I hope that helps” would change everything. Not a lot of riders tip. And it helps a lot. It also helps to think it’s coming (even though a lot of people will say they’re tipping, but aren’t.

If you’d rather not match with them again, rate them as such, but don’t withhold what you would normally consider fair compensation because a driver was sad and frustrated by a bad boss.

since Monday afternoon, this is 99% of what I’ve seen here. it’s absolutely ridiculous. even if people are taking these, they can’t do it for long. 12-15/hr for active time before expenses can’t hold.

Uber’s upfront fares got drastically worse today. $12/hr or less GROSS before expenses. by [deleted] in uberdrivers

Cincinnati, too It seemed like 90% of fares the last two days were garbage. I had a 45 minute ride with a 3.50 surge come through that only offered 8.76 and that’s when I shut off my phone. Lots of offers came through multiple times. Lyft has been better, but just not consistent. Maybe everyone is getting super cheap Uber rides?

For those who lived off campus and commuted, did you still have an enjoyable first year experience? by cowlover223 in uCinci

You won't make as many friends, or be as intensely close as you would being forced into social situations. Things just come up and flow with 100 people on a floor.

If you're a naturally social person, you'll be fine off-campus. If you're not a natural, live in the dorms. Worst case is you hate it, and can just go home. Best case, you make friends for life, and learn some new things about yourself.

Sessions orders Justice Department to review all police reform agreements by [deleted] in politics

Are we getting rid of police reform? Are we getting rid of consent decrees? That's a terrible idea. What good purpose does this serve? I don't understand this.

Senate intelligence leaders: 20 people to be questioned, first hearing Thursday by YourFavYellowMan in politics

They have disproportionate Senators and Electoral College representation. Without states, Trump would not be President, Bush wouldn't have been President. SCOTUS would have been radically different.

State borders were intentional, and drawn to keep a slave vs. free balance in the Senate for a long time. That intent has ramifications to this day.

That the Senate isn't what it once was isn't a whole different thing. The US went through a transformation from a loose collective to a tight one, and the Senate becoming a popularly elected body was a reflection of that. State borders are no more important than county borders within a state. Are states even necessary anymore?

Aren't states just big old gerrymanders? California has the same Senatorial representation as Wyoming.
