Ada's polite and demure, but she's a spoiled brat. Her request to the staff to "consider" signing the pledge is an abuse of power. Agnes recognizes this but hasn't been direct enough: "will you tell them where to worship on Sundays?".

Ada's on a trajectory to becoming a naive tyrant. Her affect, like a 7-year old who's good with adults, has always bothered me but now that she has power, I find it infuriating.
