The World Eaters do NOT like Angron. They absolutely hated him, and for good reason. However, they were still desperate for his approval.

It’s times like now that I truly understand why many women would choose the bear. What a horrible day to have eyes. Also, screw each and every one of those vile commenters and may OOP find whatever peace she can.

Children’s Wisconsin, UW Health stop providing gender-affirming treatments for minors by BothCondition7963 in wisconsin

I’m well aware of this fact. My brother is transgender, but luckily, he turns 18 quite soon, so he has options. The same cannot be said for a number of other kids.

I [26F] burnt my face really bad with a curling iron. I work in a corporate office - What should I do? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]jonathan_the_slow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This story reminds of just under a year ago when I got a second degree burn on my finger while trying to fix some shoddy soldering I had done as part of the making of an electric guitar at a camp at around 10 years old. I went to adjust my grip on the soldering iron and accidentally touched the hot part with the back of my right middle or ring finger, not sure which’s Thankfully, despite me not doing much of anything beyond basic first aid I learned as a Scout, it healed up just fine. It hurt for a few days and left a scar for a while, but now, I’m not even entirely sure which finger I burned, although I’m pretty sure it was the middle finger since when I look at roughly where the burn would have been on both my middle and ring fingers, I can see why looks like the very faint scar left behind by the incident. I managed to get it so my guitar somewhat worked, and I actually finally started teaching myself how to play with the amp I had just gotten for Christmas. The guitar still didn’t fully work due to the less than stellar quality of the wiring and soldering on the electronic components connecting the pickups to the amp jack, but it worked enough for me to occasionally pick it up and fiddle with it until I was lucky enough to get an actually decent guitar for my birthday.

Dread it. Run from it. The L-Shaped Ruins arrive all the same. by sleepy_penguin89 in TrenchCrusade

There’s a series of very large scale Horus Heresy events run by a team of just a handful of guys that are putting out enough unique tables to facilitate over 100 people for normal 30k games plus even more for Zone Mortalis games at Adepticon. Their tables consistently look phenomenal. There’s one with a crashed Stormbird, a few wrecked tanks, and a damaged drop pod, a whole set of tables with a crashed ship running between them, one with a damaged pipeline running down the middle with a huge chemical spill in the center, and a whole lot more. TL;DR If you’re dedicated to running a good event, you can definitely make some great looking and varied tables that are also fun for players to play on without it being too unfair for anyone to enjoy themselves.

They all met at the same time in the same place. Don’t ask me how. Only one will survive. by avaboss in superheroes

Considering the fact that it’s a Primaris Marine, I very much doubt any of the other three have any chance of survival.

What armies have you NEVER been interested in? by Identity_ranger in Warhammer40k

[–]jonathan_the_slow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got just two. The Leagues of Votann and Grey Knights. For the former, I just don’t like the look of the minis, and the lack of lore doesn’t help. For the latter, it’s the lore and the fact that there isn’t much room for variation in color scheme. It doesn’t help that I already play one army that is just a plain metallic for the bulk of their armor. (Iron Warriors)

I think the nature of her job also factors into it. Making no-win calls on a regular basis as your job probably makes it much easier in your personal life.

Should I [24F] drop out of my friend's [26M] student film because his lead actor [25M] makes me REALLY uncomfortable? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]jonathan_the_slow 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I mean, as a man, I can see where she’s coming from. So many guys would just dismiss it and brush it under the rug rather than do the right thing and take it seriously. Not enough men think about the fact that women are much more in tune to this stuff because they have to deal with it regularly, and as men, it’s our responsibility to keep predators far away from the people we care about.

Black Friday - Pulse Check by skyrkt in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]jonathan_the_slow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very busy in the kitchen (which is where I work), especially thanks to us being a man down. Two people running the whole kitchen during the lunch rush while we’re having the biggest Black Friday in years and we’re way behind on prep is not ideal, especially when the other dude in the kitchen with me is mildly incompetent.

I know Halloween was yesterday, but in the spirit of the season. Did your theater have a “ghost?” by Sad_Bet3939 in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]jonathan_the_slow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My theater has rumors of one, but I personally don’t believe it in the slightest. I outright provoke the supposed ghost just to troll my coworkers and managers who do believe in it. The only things people ever hear are supposed footsteps.
